Snacks in a Hurry

I got a little Christmas Shopping done this morning while Thade was at school. When Dylan and I went to pick up Thade, I heard the teacher say that there were lots of handouts today. There were three book orders due back on Wednesday, and then I spotted the snack list for December in Thade’s backpack. I looked over it, and I’m bringing snacks for December 3rd.

What the heck am I going to bring… It has to be healthy, and it has to be what I’ve got on hand too. I picked up Carrots and Celery the last time that we went to the store, so I can make veggie sticks for the kiddos, but there needs to be something else. I think I’m going to make a batch of Oatmeal muffins, and make them mini for the kiddos. I think I’ve got an extra Apple Juice in the pantry, so I hope I’m good to go!

  1. You are getting whammed at Nursery School lately!! Hang in there! Little muffins sounds yummy! Did you get your shopping done?? I need to focus on getting a good pic of the boys for holiday cards!

  2. I took tke kids to a friend’s house today and she taught me how to make pumpkin rolls. I am such a visual learner. I can’t wait to try and make a couple of my own.

  3. Thanks Heather! The pumpkin rolls sound yummy 🙂 We just have to shop for the boys and we are all done with the Christmas Shopping!

December is a busy month, and a pricey one at preschool! I hope the kiddos like the snacks, the teacher wants low sugar as much as possible. I don’t blame her, it I was taking care of 22 4 year olds, I’d want them sugar free too 😉

  4. Thanks Marva! I’m trying to keep the snacks healthy, but also budget-friendly. I’ve got everything on hand, so no running to the busy store for me 😉

  5. Yeah, low sugar is wise. Plus kids that age still think veggie sticks are cool! I am so jealous of you for getting all your shopping done! Way to go! We’re getting the tree this weekend? Do you get a real tree?

  6. Thanks Heather! I really wanted to make No Bake Cookies and Rice Krispies Treats for the snacks, but I don’t think the teacher would have approved of those snacks 😉

I am done with the Extended Family/Friends/and Co-workers, and James and I will be shopping for the boys soon. How is your Christmas shopping going?

We have an artificial tree, both my brother and I are allergic to Evergreen trees, so its only plastic around here 🙂 Are you going to get a real tree?
