September Project Check-In

I’ve finally finished cleaning and decorating the foyer. I have to admit this room was a bit of a catch all, and dumping ground for just about everything. This is also the first room when you walk in the house, and the first room my hubby comes home to after a long day of work. I was tired of it being a mess. I wanted a nice and peaceful room to sit and hang out in. I used only what I had on hand to decorate, and I didn’t bring in any new pieces of furniture.

entry-1.JPG On one corner of the room (under the stairway) I made a cozy reading nook. I used two chairs and a lamp from the dining room. I also used a shoe rack from my closet for a little bookshelf. The reading nook turned out great. Thade has lots of fun reading through books and magazines there.

One of my very favorite parts of the room is the large leaded glass window and window sill. You’ll often find one of the kitties hanging out and watching traffic.

I’m happy with how the room turned out, and its one project off of my to do list 🙂 Now I just need to go and get the rest started and finished.

  1. Nico,

Enjoyed the post. Love the reading nook, we have a couple of those shoe racks out in the garage (we don’t wear shoes in the house) but I think I might use them in the study after seeing your idea for a bookself.

Love, love the view from your window. It’s so green outside and that tree is fabulous!

    Thanks for sharing!
