Recycling Day

Yay for Recycling Day!

After many phone calls, and online searches we finally found the super secret locations offering bi-monthly recycling. Today we are taking our filled bins to Wal-Mart. Although we can’t recycle it all locally, we can recycle Paper, Plastic, and Aluminum, and I think that it is a great start.

James filled an entire bin in his office, and Thade has been helping with the sorting downstairs. The only downside to today is that it is pouring outside, so we’ll be out in the rainy weather for a bit. I had better go  load up my car, and get to the store.

  1. Great job nico! We all need to do more. I’ve missed you and all of my blogging buddies.

I love the MOPS idea too. I am a member of the BAMOM (our local multiples club). I love it. I hope to able to particpate more in the meetings too.

    Blessings!!!

  2. That’s so cool Nicole! Here in my area, we have a great recycling program…..we can recycle just about everything. At least you are able to do some…..every bit helps and I’m glad Thade is getting involved…. 🙂 Ellie

  3. Do you have to pay a deposit on non fruit beverage containers? We do here, 5 to 10 cents per beverage- and then get cash back for them at the recycling center. Every bit helps!

  4. Thanks Marva! I’ve missed you too 🙂 I bet your BAMOM group is great. I’m really looking forward to all of the MOPS activities, it is so much fun.

I want to do more to get my family a little more Green. Thade loves to help too, and I think that recycling is a great way to get him involved.

I hope that you are having a great weekend! Big hugs 🙂

  5. Thanks Ellie! That is fantastic that you have a great recycling program, I hope that one day we’ll have one here too. We have recycling drop off available twice a month, and I am going to try to be there with my recyclables in tow.

Thade loves to help out too, and any time he places a can in the bin, he’ll say “we’re going green” 🙂 It always makes me smile.

  6. Thanks Mimi! That is a great way to save a bit more, and I bet the deposit helps keep everyone motivated to recycle. We do not pay a deposit, and I think that there might be a recycling center nearby (out of town) that pays a little bit for aluminum cans. I agree, every little bit helps 🙂

I’m was happy to find recycling locally, I hope that maybe one day we’ll have curb side pick up for recyclables. I think that would get everyone motivated to keep recycling.

I hope that you are having a great weekend, and sending big hugs your way 🙂
