Pretend School Day

Both of the boy’s were up extra early today, so I declared that today would be a pretend School day. I told Thade that we would be going through our new Morning Routine, and we needed to be out the door by 8:00 a.m. (wink)

We have a pretty basic routine: both boys dressed, faces washed, teeth brushed, breakfast, backpack on, and out the door.

Thade wasn’t really buying the idea of a pretend School day though, he knows that School doesn’t start for nine more days… Oh well, practice makes perfect.

How do you help your kids get back in to the school routine?

  1. I yell a lot. Honestly, I find it’s the only thing that seems to work that first week 😀 .

My kids are morning people, and it’s not too hard to get them up. But we do a lot the night before (lunch and snacks packed, backpacks packed, clothes layed out) and that helps. But I still yell LOL.

  2. Thanks Susan! You totally crack me up!!! My kids are morning people too, but I am so not 😉 It is going to be tough for me to get up and ready in time, Thade would be up at 5:30 a.m., if I would let him.
