Greener Garbage

On Sunday I made a grocery run for some much needed items, the flu had made a return to our household, and I had a lot of cleaning to do. Trash Bags were on my list, and I was also looking for a good deal. I usually buy the Wal-Mart brand trash bags, but I spotted Good Sense Recycled Trash Bags on sale for $2.50 πŸ™‚ I decided to give them a try, and I’m very pleased with their product.

This is one Green alternative that saved me a little green too. I saved $.68 purchasing the Good Sense trash bags πŸ™‚

Cameraless

I’m bad luck when it comes to electronics. My awesome digital camera broke and displays only a white screen now, and then this weekend my other digital camera bit the dust too. Anytime I attempt take a picture the entire camera shuts down. I’ve ordered a new battery for my awesome digital camera, but it isn’t going to make it in time for Thade’s first T-Ball game… Oh well, I just hope the new battery does the trick.

Our Day Trip To K.C.

Saturday we made the drive up to Kansas City, and the day was filled with fun and craziness. Both boys were so excited to see their Uncle Rob, and Nana and I were pretty excited too.

We met up at Rob’s apartment, and then we planned the day from there. Rob took us by where he works, and it was amazing. He is right by Union Station, and I couldn’t believe the view.

Rob works in the art district, and it is so beautiful there. I’m a little jealous of his amazing drive to work. He drives past historical sites, art museums, and amazing skyscrapers. I love architecture and I hope one day to end up in a big city with a view like the pictures above.

We then headed over to Minsky’s on the River Market for some tasty Kansas City Pizza, and it was so delicious. We also got to check out the Open Air Farmer’s Market too, it was amazing. I spotted way too many awesome deals on fruits and veggies. I’d shop there weekly if I could.

We had a little detour though… After lunch and checking out the sites my car started acting up. Luckily Rob was driving and headed us over to Firestone, were we got to hang out for about an hour and a half while my car got some diagnostic work done πŸ˜‰

Even though we spent the afternoon at Firestone, we all had a fun time just hanging out. Thade was getting a little stir crazy though πŸ˜‰ There turned out to be nothing wrong with my car, thank goodness. I might have a sensor going out. The car was safe to drive and we were ready to get back on the road.

We took the kiddos and Nana back to Rob’s. Dylan was ready to eat and take a nap, and Thade was ready to chill out on the couch for a bit. Rob drove me to the Plaza so I could pick up a present for James. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Plaza, it is truly awesome. There are endless places to eat and shop, and you can people watch all day. The architecture is incredible, and every where you look is a lovely fountain or a beautiful statue. I’m so ready to move to K.C. now πŸ˜‰

Rob said he would buy coffee, and you know I can’t say no to an iced coffee. He introduced me to Latte Land, and I’m a huge fan now! I had a Vanilla Bliss Blended Coffee, and I have to say it was even tastier than my beloved Starbucks Frappuccino. Just one more reason I’m ready to move to K.C.

We all had such a great time, and thanks again to Rob for having us up to visit. I can’t wait to go and visit again πŸ™‚

Time is Ticking

Wednesday night after dinner I took one look at the kitchen and knew that I needed to clean big time. I had made Turkey Stock, Sweet Potatoes for Dylan, our evening meal, and I had every single surface of the kitchen covered. It was about 6:45 p.m., and I still needed to get the boy’s bathed, laundry in and out of the dryer, and wash that mountain of dishes. I decided to set the timer on the oven for 15 minutes and see just what I could get accomplished.

I was really surprised that with the timer ticking I got a lot done, and I stayed motivated knowing that I had a limited amount of time to get my cleaning tasks finished. I washed about half of the dishes, cleaned all of the kitchen surfaces, and got to the laundry that was waiting for me. I even had a little time left to take out the trash. I’ll be using the oven timer often to help out with my cleaning tasks!

What helps keep you on track and motivated with your housekeeping?

Off to K.C.

This morning I woke up at 6:00 a.m. ready to start the day. Today we are going to visit my brother Rob in K.C., and I can’t wait to get on the road. Thade is super excited too, and I bet Dylan will be once we get in the car, he loves to ride πŸ˜‰

Yesterday I spent the day makingΒ  Chocolate Chip Cookies and Chex Mix to take to Rob, as a peace offering, just in case his nephews trash his apartment. I also thought that it would make tasty Road Trip snacks for Nana and me too…

I still have so much to get done this morning, and the car to pack, but I’m super excited!
