Labor Day Picnic

Yesterday Nana (my mom) was coming to visit. I had thought that it might be fun to go to the Park and have a picnic. It ended up being way too warm yesterday, so we opted for an Indoor-Picnic. We had a fun time, and the kids stayed nice and cool too.

I served PB&J’s on Homemade Bread, Chips & Dip, a little Veggie tray, and Chocolate Drop Cookies. I think the boy’s liked the Cookies the best.

Nana also brought a few surprises too, new school clothes for Thade and a few cute tops for me too. She also restocked all of the paper goods and brought me 24 lbs of Flour and 2 lbs of Yeast!! I was so thrilled and now I’ll never be short on baking supplies. Thanks again for everything Nana!

In the afternoon we went and visited my hubby at work, and we brought along Sonic drinks. It was still so warm outside, so we all appreciated the cool treats.

When James came home I continued the Indoor-Picnic theme, and made a mini-indoor BBQ. We had Angus Burgers and Tater Tots along with a few Chocolate Drop Cookies. All in all it was a very fun and relaxing Labor Day!

As usual I’m going to try extra hard (even though I didn’t do so good in August) to keep motivated and keep cooking, and try my best to avoid the take-out meals. We’ll see how it goes though…

10 for August

Another month is almost over, and I’ve kept track once more of my no driving days. I didn’t do quite as well as I had in July, but I’m still happy with my no driving days total. I ended up not driving for 10 days in August, we also got out more and went for many walks, thanks to the cooler weather.

School starts next month, so I know I’ll be driving more. I would like to try and keep from driving at least 2-3 days a week during the School year. We’ll see how it goes.

Grandparent’s Day Dinner

With Grandparent’s Day coming up soon (September 7th) I’m planning a Dinner to say thanks the boy’s amazing Grandmas. I’m planning on serving Turkey and Homemade Noodles, Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans, Homemade Rolls, and some sort of Dessert, I haven’t quite made up my mind yet.

I am stuck on gifts though, I have no idea what to get for the Grandmas. I have a little over a week to come up with a gift, I hope that I can find something good.

Miss Grumpy Pants

Today I am still in a bad mood, I was in a bad mood yesterday after my car wouldn’t start, and I had to switch out the car seats with two screaming kids in 100 degree weather, yeah I am so in a bad mood. Somehow I ran out of time yesterday, and didn’t make it to the store either, and I’m out of Sugar, and now I’m Nico with no coffee, so I’m in a really bad mood. On top of it all, it is grocery shopping day and that usually has me in a horrible mood by the time that I am home, so yeah you could say that my bad mood will only worsen by the end of the day.

I hope that your mood is cheerier than mine, but if not feel free to leave your gripes with me.
