Cleaning out my Closet

I have a dirty secret, my closet was horrible. It was cramped, stuffed, and filled with way too much stuff. I knew something had to be done, so I picked out an evening and decided to tear into my mess of a closet.

I dug out everything, and I really mean everything, and I threw it all on my side of the bed. I then went through it all, piece by piece, and shoe by shoe. I cleaned out a bag of clothing for the MOPS Sister Swap sale, and I threw out 1/2 of a trash bag of just junk.

I rearranged my clothes, and my bags too. I’m so happy with the results. I hope that this Winter (when we are all stuck indoors) I’ll finally get around to painting my closet and shelves. I might just invest in a shoe rack, or two to help keep me organized also.

Now if I can just get motivated and clean out the boy’s closet too…

My New Chair

Saturday morning, as my hubby was off to work, he hollered “Honey, there is something on the front proch that you need to see…” I ran to the door, and saw the new chair, and I knew that my brother had come by to visit, only we missed him.

So now I feel bad, we were upstairs when my brother came by, and my house is a vacuum for sound, and we completely missed him… Thade keep asking, “where’s Uncle Rob”, and then Dylan will point to the chair and say “Rob, Rob”. Maybe he’ll stop by on his way home, I’ve promised him Football and Chili if he stops by.

Either way, I’m going out and purchasing a Door Bell kit for the house, I don’t want to miss Rob again.

Fall Parade

There is a fun Fall festival this weekend, and our town kicked it off with a great parade on Thursday night.

We found a great spot, and waited for the parade to start.

Thade even noticed Geese flying South for the Winter.

The Fall parade featured many floats, and plenty of antique cars. Mostly it was Tractors, but it is a Harvest Festival after all…

There was plenty of candy too. Thade had a great time running around to grab handfuls of Tootsie Rolls and Lollipops. He even found one packet of his favorite Smarties candies!

Dylan wasn’t a fan of the candy though… He got bonked in the noggin by a flying lollipop, so he wasn’t too pleased.

The Fall parade was a great one this year, and we all had so much fun. The weather was just perfect too. We might check out the Festival this afternoon, I’m hoping to visit some of the tasty food booths.

How does your town celebrate Fall? Are you planning on attending any Fall Festivals this Autumn?

Happy 1/2 Birthday Dylan!

Happy 1/2 Birthday Dylan!

Today is Dylan’s half birthday, and he has changed so much in the last six months. Dylan is our busy child, and our tough but sweet child. He is always there to give a big hug, and loves to run around the house chasing his big brother.

Dylan can speak just a bit, but even without any words he can get his point across. He has so many new skills, a few favorites are walking backwards, and climbing on everything. He loves to build with blocks, and then destroy his creations. He also loves to “go go go” and wants to wear his favorite shoes all the time.

Happy half birthday to our darling Dylan! We can’t wait to see what the next six months brings.

Thade’s First Book Order

Thade’s first Scholastic book order has arrived, and he is thrilled! Me too, we now have plenty of new books to read to the boys at bedtime. He carried his new books everywhere yesterday. I loaned him a tote to make the job a little easier. This morning he woke up early, dug through his big wicker basket of books, and picked out all of his favorite new books. He then packed his tote full of  books, and brought them downstairs for the day. He has been looking through them all morning.

I remember looking forward to Scholastic book orders when I was a child in grade school. I loved to read, and still do, when I get the chance. I had a few favorite reading spots in our backyard.  I would climb one of my favorite Apple Trees, along with my tote filled with books, and read all afternoon. I’m so glad to see that Thade has a great love of books too. Even Dylan likes to sit and flip through picture books on the couch. I hope that both of my boys enjoy a lifetime filled with reading.
