It’s Wonky Day!

Thade has declared that it is “Wonky Day”!

How did “Wonky Day” get started you ask… Yesterday I put on a shirt, that Thade didn’t like, and he said, “oh Mom you should really save that shirt for Wonky Day.” It cracked me up, but gave me a good idea too. To help celebrate Wonky Day we are lounging out in comfy clothes, with messy hair, and doing as little as possible. So far I am loving Wonky Day!

I hope that everyone has a great Wonky Day! Stay warm too.

The Temps Are Dropping

It is getting pretty cold outside. This morning when I took Thade to school it was 43, and I just looked and it is now 32, and dropping. We are definitely indoors for today and probably tomorrow too.

To help keep the birds fed during this cold snap, all of the kiddos made Pine cone Bird Feeders at preschool today. Thade found a great spot on our tree, so we can watch the birds from the window. Thade has also kept busy by drwaing pictures of Frosty the Snowman, he is really hoping that this cold weather will bring along some snow.

Filling Up

Well the weather is getting ready to get really really cold, so I ran to the store this morning to get a few much needed items.

I picked up two bags of poly-fil for the bears. I only have 5 more to turn, before I can start the stuffing. Dylan has already pre-tested all of the bears, by giving them all big hugs, even though they are flat.

I’m also stocking up the snacks (again) and baking a loaf of bread today too. Yesterday I made a batch of Cocoa Krispies treats for the kids, and I think today I’ll make a Chocolate Bundt Cake to have on hand for dessert tonight.

Stay warm and toasty today, I hope the weather isn’t too cold in your neighborhood.

Bears, Bears, Bears

Yesterday was a very productive Bear day. While James was home for Lunch, I cut out all of the Girl Bears, and while Dylan took a nap, I sewed them all. This was a record for me 16 bears in 2 hours, not too bad.

Now I just need to turn them, stuff them. and sew them closed, and then we are good to go! I have a feeling these bears are going to get a lot of hugs, they are too cute.

Up to my Ears in Bears

This month I will be co-hosting a preschool party, and I thought it would be nice to have a little present to give to all of the kiddos in Thade’s class. At first I made a big list of give away items that I could order, and then I took one look at just how much it would be to ship all of these items, and I decided I could come up with something better.

I gathered up all of my fabric, I decided to make Teddy Bears for all of the kiddos. I be pairing the bears with a little treat bag of M&M’s or maybe Teddy Grahams. I think the bears will be adorable, but I’ve got a lot of sewing and stuffing to get done before the end of the month.

Yesterday I sewed 16 Boy bears, and I’ve got to cut and sew 16 Girl bears soon. I’ve got to make another run to the store for stuffing too. I hope to have some more pictures of the bears in progress soon. Back to the sewing machine!
