This Morning, I’m a Mess

picture-0105

It’s 6:45 a.m. and I can hear two giggling voices, I look at the clock and decide that it is way too early for me, and my wonky tummy. Then I hear, “hey Dylan, run into Mom and Dad’s room and yell Mom really loud!!!” At that point I decided that it is time to get up and wrangle the kiddos that are already running laps upstairs.

I get both of the boys dressed nicely for Church this morning, and we make our way downstairs to get some breakfast. I’m really not feeling that great, and today it must be showing. Thade looked at me and said…

Thade: eeww Mom, you look really bad… Are you morning sick again?

Icky Morning Mom(and I was): Yep, I’m not feeling too good today.

Thade: Poor Mom, I hope you get better, my sister is kicking your butt!

Icky Morning Mom: with a snicker, thanks Thade

I hope I can shape up by Church time, I am one big mess this morning.

Cookies Cookies Cookies

016

What a long day… Nine hours of baking and about 17 dozen cookies later, and I’m finally all finished. I’ll post the list of the goodies soon. Tomorrow I’ve got to take 15 dozen cookies to our Church for Vacation Bible School, and then I don’t know if I’ll want to see another cookie for quite awhile. Time to grab a glass of milk and call it a night.

Kitchen Time

0045

This week I’ve been baking desserts, muffins, and biscuits non-stop. I whipped up a big batch of Zucchini Muffins (thanks to my mom’s Farmer’s Market buy), and they were really tasty. Dylan even liked them, but Thade wouldn’t give them a try. I really liked the green specks of Zucchini in the muffins, and it is a good way to sneak in some veggies too.

Vacation Bible School  starts next week. I have volunteered to make 15 dozen cookies, and I can’t wait to get started. Our Church uses about 70 dozen cookies a day for all of the kiddos, and Thade can’t wait to go. I think I’ll spend tomorrow in the kitchen and get the cookies done and delivered by Sunday.

First I had better go and get to all of the dishes, and then the fun part of cookie making.

New Beds

Last night we were upstairs working on the boy’s room. We had picked-up a new to us bed for Dylan, but Thade ended up with it. Dylan was really happy with Thade’s hand-me-over bed, and he even slept through the entire night in his big boy bed. Thade slept better too in his new bed. Now we just need to take apart the crib and reassemble it in the nursery, and I really need to work on pairing down the boy’s room and closet too. Who knew two little guy’s could have so much stuff…

James also brought home a wallpaper steamer so he can get to work on removing the wallpaper in the nursery. I can’t wait! Then the pretty pink paint gets to go up! Maybe I should get to work on cleaning out that and room and closet too.
