Lazy Saturday

001

It’s cold, and dreary outside today, sounds like a good day to take it easy and have a lazy Saturday. Well the kiddos are anyway, I’m playing catch-up around the house, and running a few errands today too. I hope to get caught back up on all of the dishes that need washed, and put away 6 loads of laundry too. I need to home dry-clean a few items for my hubby, and get our suitcases ready for the hospital. I also want to do some more cleaning in the nursery, but it is in pretty good shape thanks to my friend Kelly for helping out earlier in the week.

I have a big list, better get some breakfast, and get to it! Have a great weekend everyone!

Out Early

0052

Today I got the call from the School Nurse that I needed to go and pick up Thade. I was worried that he had gotten sick at School, and then she said that he had been hurt on the playground. He had a large bump on his head, and he was really upset. He was feeling fine though, but he burst into tears when he saw me.

When we got home he was so upset, and James and I were worried that he was really hurting. Then Thade said “I want to go back to School, I don’t want to miss anything!!!” Bless his heart, this kiddo loves kindergarten, and he doesn’t want to miss a moment of it.

Enjoying the Peace

As my pregnancy is coming to the end, I find myself  happy, sad, anxious, and nervous all at the same time. I am happy that our little girl will be here soon, but sad that I am feeling selfish that I am losing my quiet afternoons. I’m already anxious to be home from the hospital, and I haven’t checked in yet, and nervous about being away from my kids for a few days… I know they will worry, and I will too.

This week I’m trying to enjoy the quiet moments, and days out of the house while I’ve got them. I’m enjoying the free time this week, and keeping my mind busy planning a Halloween party for Thade’s class. I also have a lot of fun activities planned for the week.

Today we had a MOPS Steering team lunch, and it was so nice to catch up with friends, and get a little break from the kitchen too. One of my friends and I have already made plans for tomorrow morning too, and I have another lunch to go to tomorrow. There is also a breakfast at my hubby’s work on Thursday, and yet another Doctor’s appointment to attend to. School is out on Friday, and my hubby has the day off,  but there is a MOPS meeting to go to, and I can’t wait for this one. James and I even have a date night planned for Friday night, and the kiddos have plans that night too.

The next few weeks are going to be crazy, and stressful, but hopefully wonderful at the same time…

Missing The Trolley

040

One of my favorite things about Fall is getting to ride the Haunted Trolley. I have to skip it this year, cause I’m due in a few weeks, but I hope that we can take all of the kiddos for the Christmas Trolley Tour.

Riding the Haunted Trolley is way too much fun! All of the tours are after dark, and you even get cookies and usually Hot Chocolate before the tour begins. You ride for about an hour, and learn all about the local “haunted” places, and you usually get to see some pretty cool Halloween decorations too. The boy’s love it, and I do too! It has been a family tradition of ours for about 3 years now, and I’m really sad that we won’t be on the Trolley this year.

What are some of your favorite local Autumn Traditions?

4:45 a.m. Is So Not My Friend

I’ve noticed this alarming trend lately around my house, with no alarm clock needed. My kids have this uncanny ability to wake up at 4:45 a.m., and not go back to sleep, and I’m not too happy about it… I’ve been retraining my sleepy mind to wake up around 5:45 a.m., but this 4:45 a.m. business has got to go! I’m so tired, I’ve lost count on exactly which day in succession that it is that my kids feel the need to be up that early, and wow I’m exhausted…

Last night they were both up through the night, Thade with allergies, and Dylan with 2 evil molars, me with butt-cramps from this little girl that can’t get here soon enough. So I think I clocked in 3 hours of sleep, and then I heard Thade at 4:45 a.m. up, coughing, and trying his best to wake up his brother. I gave up, and brought Thade downstairs where he could make some noise, and the rest of the house could sleep. Dylan was up right at 7:00 a.m., and my lucky hubby is still snoozing. My head is stinging from the lack of sleep, and it is only going to get worse as the month progresses into the next.

So I’m going to be bad today, and enjoy a big cup of coffee chased with a Cherry Pepsi, and try my best to keep my eyes open…
