K.C. Daycation part 1

002

I’ll often ask the kiddos, “if you could go anywhere, where would you want to go?” Almost always the answer is Wonderscope. We live a bit away from Wonderscope, but luckily my brother Rob doesn’t live to far away from Wonderscope, and the kiddos were able to talk him into tagging along for the day.

006

Wonderscope is an interactive Children’s museum, and it is amazingly fun.

012

There are many different rooms to play in, and activities to explore.

014

Agnes was happy chilling out and watching the boys run around.

016

Even Uncle Rob had a good time at Wonderscope.

021

Nana and Agnes had fun playing too.

026

The kiddos favorite room was the Lego room.

027

It is full of great displays and plenty of Lego’s to play with too.

001

The boy’s are already asking when we can go back to K.C. and visit again.

Let’s Make Rainbow Cupcakes

0011

Do you have a rainy day, and a whole bunch of bowls?

0021

Then you can make some Rainbow Cupcakes!

0061

You will need a few helpers.

008

You will also need:

  • 1 White Cake Mix (mix according to package directions)
  • Food coloring
  • Icing, and cupcake liners too

009

Pick out your favorite colors, and then separate the cake batter into the small bowls. I used about 3/4 of a cup  of batter in each dish, and then dyed the batter Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, and Purple.

010

Then just spoon all of the rainbow colors into the liners one spoonful at a time.

0121

Bake according to your cake mix directions.

0141

Let them cool, and frost them with some Fluffy Cloud Icing.

018

Delicious!

019

They are a perfect rainy day treat!

10 Bags

0012

Whew, just look at those giant bags!

We have been really busy over here for the last week-and-a-half. My hubby had some vacation time, and I was feeling pretty overwhelmed by the state of our house. Every single spot that you looked was clutter. Finally we said enough, and we went and grabbed the 55 gallon contractor bags, and got to work.

We cleaned the Utility Room, the Dining Room, the Kitchen, the Office, and we barely started on the upstairs closets, and we came up with 10 bags filled with clutter. We also came up with a ton of goodies for a garage sale too.

Today the last of the bags were hauled off, and the house is looking great. We still have a long way to go. We have the entire upstairs to de-clutter, and then there is the living room, it is the main source of messiness in this house, but we are getting there.

I’ve also noticed that I’m not as stressed out as I was. I was feeling really down about the house, but I didn’t have enough energy to tackle the big mess on my own. Having my hubby to help out really was great, and I’m a much happier camper now. We even have some plans to get back to painting the house, now that the mess is all gone.

I am so happy to see those 10 bags out of here!
