First Crop

0101

On the Fourth of July I picked out first decent crop of Green beans. They made a super tasty side to Panko Chicken. We are still picking snow peas from the garden, and a bit of broccoli here and there. The acorn squash and corn are looking good, and today we spotted two tiny watermelons too. I’m hoping for a good rain shower so the garden keeps on growing.

Let The Fireworks Begin

Agnes wasn’t happy about it, not one little bit…

0012

Thade couldn’t wait!

0061

Dylan wasn’t too sure if he would like the fireworks or not…

010

We were all waiting for dusk, for the temp to drop a bit, and for the fireworks show that Dad was going to put on.

022

Thade got started with some Morning Glories.

012

Dylan put on his headphones, just in case the fireworks were too loud.

027

After a bit Dylan got curious, and decided to hold a sparkler too.

034

038

Thade was a pro. That little guy had an awesome time this year, and he discovered his love for lighting fireworks. He is already ready for the next 4th of July, he has big plans for next year.

045

Finally the sun went down for the night, so we grabbed a blanket to put on the front lawn.

048

Dylan and I set in to watch the firework show that Dad and Thade were putting on.

052

It was an awesome display!

What a fantastic 4th of  July.

Happy 4th of July

The boys have been shopping twice with Dad, and they are ready for the 4th of July!

014

Agnes and I will be spending the day indoors…

018

She is not a fan of the 4th of July.

If you are outdoors or in, have a super safe and very Happy 4th of July!

Road Trip: Wonderscope

One of the many reasons that I wished we lived in Kansas City just so happens to be Wonderscope. It is an awesome place, and whenever the kiddos want to go somewhere, Wonderscope is on the top of their list. James had some time off, so I talked him into a road trip to Wonderscope. The kiddos couldn’t wait to go.

004

Wonderscope is an interactive Children’s Museum, and it is fun for all ages. There are several different themed rooms filled with activities, dress up, and art to create.  My kids favorites are the Lego Room, and the Water Room. Save the water room for last, the kiddos will be soaked!

005

I think this is our third visit to Wonderscope, and the kids are already asking to go again.

006

Agnes and I spent most of the day in the Baby Room, she was a little grumpy on this trip.

0011

The boys enjoyed the new music display. I got to play the Theremin, and James played the Marimba.

002

It was hard to get the boys to stand still for a photo, they were ready to play.

0032

I hope to make another trip to Wonderscope this Summer, and again in the Fall. It is so much fun, and a fantastic day out of the house.

June’s Tasty Treats

I think I spent most of June in the kitchen whipping up breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the crew. I did get a few tasty treats made though, but not near enough pictures.

003

We made Oatmeal Muffins for breakfast for dinner night.

001

I tried out a new recipe for Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Truffles. James loved these!

0031

Last but not least I made a Chocolate Cake with Red Velvet Icing. It was amazing delicious, the kiddos loved it.

Now onto July, and I’m working on a Cherry Jell-O Cake today! Time to get in the kitchen.
