Kitchen-work

The kitchen is the main project that we are working on. It is in need of a complete overhaul. We’ve scraped, spackled, primed, ripped out flooring, and debated paint colors.

Agnes has been “helping” too.

Right before the power-outage. We rearranged the kitchen. We moved the fridge out of it’s cubby hole, and moved the deep freezer in it’s place. The deep freezer fit perfectly, and it looks like I’ll be getting a pantry thanks to the swap. The fridge didn’t fare too well. It was acting up a bit, and not staying too cool. We cleaned it out when we moved it across the room, but it just didn’t cooperate with the change. It also started to make some terrible sounds, and refused to cool. I think it was just it’s time.

Luckily the old fridge gave up around labor day, and we did a lot of comparison shopping. James found an awesome deal, and I got a new fridge for the kitchen. I love it, and it is going to go perfectly with our kitchen redo.

Football!

Football season has arrived, and the little gal is ready to cheer on the Green Bay Packers!

Dad is pretty happy about it too, the Packers are his favorite team too.

Halloween Crafting

I know it is still over a month away, but I can’t wait for Halloween. I absolutely love it, it is my favorite holiday, and this year I want to decorate like crazy.

I’m trying to hold off until October to start decorating, but that won’t keep me from sewing something Halloween themed.

I had some orange fabric left over from my quilting stash, I pared it with a pumpkin remnant that I had hanging out. I thought about making a table decoration, then I thought about turning it into a runner to place in the large window.

I’ve added more fabric, and now it is about the size of a small blanket. Maybe it will end up being a tablecloth for the Halloween candy table. I don’t know what it is yet, but it has been fun to sew.

Around The Yard

The rainy days have greened up the yard again. It seems more like Spring than Autumn right now.

I noticed that my lilac bush was starting to bud again…

I was surprised to see those pretty purple blossoms this late in the season.

I love the scent of lilac.

Agnes and I found tiny pumpkins at the store. I think we need a few to decorate the front porch for Halloween.

A Big Mess

Hey Agnes… Did you make that mess?

Agnes says, what mess. I don’t see a mess, I was on my pink phone.

Agnes, did you make that mess?

Agnes turns around, and says, oh that mess.

Agnes bows her head and pouts, I don’t know who made the mess…

I’m pretty sure it was you Agnes.

Agnes with a big smile and a sassy wave, it was me. I’m messy!

Oh, this mommy is tired of cleaning up the messy…
