Considering Couponing (again)

I tend to go back and forth on this one… I need to seriously start saving on my monthly grocery budget, and I’m thinking about coupon clipping again.

I’ve been out of the coupon game for a long time though. I’ve cleaned out my binder, and resorted what I have. I need to get a budget together of how much to spend on weekly newspapers, and check on the local stores coupon policies too.

Do you have any tips to share? How much are you saving with coupons?

Whew! It’s Monday

The boys are back to school, and I’m getting the house back in order. The laundry has piled up over the weekend, but the dishes are done.

The cold arrived this morning, and the kiddos did not want to leave the house. I really didn’t want to either. Happy Monday everyone, hope your day is going well.

November’s Tasty Treats

There has been a lot of cooking going on. November was a crazy month, but it was a tasty month too. With Thanksgiving all done, I’ve already got my Christmas menu planned. I can’t wait to get started on the desserts and homemade croissants too. Before I get ahead of myself, here are a few of the tasty treats that I made in November.

Chocolate Cake and Ice Cream has become a tasty favorite.

James surprised me with Donuts.

I made a few practice pies and a few batches of dinner rolls too.

I made an apple pie (or two, or three), it was pretty tasty.

It also makes a great breakfast.

I made one more Cherry pie. I wanted to make one last practice pie before Thanksgiving.

Chocolate chip cookies, these are a favorite after-school treat.

I started baking pies the day before Thanksgiving. This one is pumpkin.

We had a tasty Thanksgiving dinner. We had ham and turkey, and lots of trimmings too.

There were lots of Thanksgiving desserts. Apple pie, pumpkin pie, coconut cream pie, and chocolate cream pie.

Coconut cream pie and pumpkin pie for breakfast. Seriously, best day-after-thanksgiving breakfast.

I made another batch of Butter Rolls, I let these proof for an hour extra, and they turned out so pretty.

After all of that pie, we needed some more cake.

I’m ready to start baking for Christmas. I have lots of desserts and cookies planned. I can’t wait to get started.

November’s Favorite Photos

November flew by. There was lots of cooking, cleaning, and celebrating going on. The boys were busy at school, and Agnes was keeping me busy at home. I have a few photos to share with you.

Thade was trying on the dust mask when we were working on the upstairs bathroom.

Thade also got glasses in November. He really likes them.

Dylan was all smiles.

He is drawing a Christmas tree. He can’t wait for Christmas.

Agnes had a rough November. I think she had a cold for most of the month.

She has kept busy drawing lots of pictures. She absolutely loves to draw.

We have been getting the house ready for Christmas.

The little pup keeps getting bigger. She has been loving the friendly weather.

And now for your double dose of kitty cuteness…

He’s been napping a lot. The big cat turned 13 in November, and some days he is up and playing. Other days he just wants to nap all day…

We’ll see what December brings our way. I know the kids are already excited for Christmas break.
