Baking Day

Today I’m spending the day in the kitchen. I’m supplying the desserts for tomorrow’s lunch at my hubby’s workplace. I’m super happy to be back in the kitchen too.

I’ll be baking two kinds of pies, brownies, giant chocolate chip cookies, and cakerdoodles too. Time to break in this new oven, hope I still have my timing down.

Kitchen Update

Well the oven baked it’s last batch of rolls, and then it was time to get a new one.

We shopped around a lot, researched a lot, and made a few trips out of town too. Finally we found the perfect one, and it was on sale too. Yesterday it was delivered, and I couldn’t wait to get back to baking.

Thanks again to my awesome hubby for getting me a brand new oven, my kitchen is so much happier.

Maybe Today…

I’m looking over my to-do list for today, and so far this morning I really don’t feel like to-do-ing anything… I’m on hold for the day, in hopes that the new oven will be here sometime. I really hope it gets here, my hubby has a lunch at work on Friday, and I usually take care of the desserts. I don’t want to miss out on a cookie catering opportunity.

I’ve promised my super sweet neighbors some more cookies if the oven shows up too. So keep your fingers crossed for me, and we’ll see what today brings.

Monday’s

This morning my nine year old declared “I hate Mondays”, oh how I love that little guy. I used to hate Mondays too, but now I kinda love them.

I like the start to a new week. I like getting up early, and getting to the store before the crowd hits. I like coming home, and enjoying a bit of quiet from the noisy weekend. I seem to get caught back up on my housework on Mondays too.

Mondays aren’t so bad… What is your favorite day of the week?

Away For A Day

We don’t live too far from Kansas City, but we don’t get up there nearly enough. My brother invited us up for the day, and I couldn’t say no. He had tickets for all of us to go to the Packers and Chiefs game at Arrowhead Stadium, and well the Packers are James’ favorite team, so we really had to go.

We packed our bags for an overnight stay, and we were on the way.

We were greeted by this little cutie when we got to my brother’s house.

We hung out at Rob’s for just a bit, and then we headed off to the stadium.

I hadn’t been to a Chiefs game in years, and this was James’ very first game.

We were all excited, and Rob had crazy-awesome seats.

We were headed to the ground level, visitors side, right by the end-zone!

Seriously! This was crazy, I have never been this close to the field.

The game was fantastic!

Arrowhead stadium is so loud. It is truly Chiefs Kingdom there.

Our time together at the game went by too fast…

We headed back to Rob’s. He was so kind to let us stay at his house for the night.

We were going to spend most of the day in the city, and head back to the Fort by dinner-time.

We visited lots of tasty Kansas City places. We had the best donuts ever at Lamar’s, and we had lunch at Rob’s favorite place too.

We also visited the Argosy casino, I had never been there before.

It was such an amazing trip, and so great to get away for a bit too. Thanks again to my brother Rob, for making it all happen. I can’t wait to visit again soon.
