December’s Monthly Menu

I woke up a little later than usual today, and I couldn’t believe that it was December already. I also remembered that I hadn’t even started a monthly menu yet… I got up, got everyone breakfast, grabbed a strong cup of coffee, and got to work.

If November taught me anything, it is that my kids are hungry all of the time… The boys are both growing like crazy, and even the Miss is wanting more snacks. In December the big kids only go to school for about two weeks. I really need to have the house stocked and ready to go towards the middle of the month.

There are so many activities going on this month too. I hope I can keep up with all of them. There is also Christmas!!! The kids are excited, and so am I.

I can’t wait to start baking Christmas cookies for friends and family. I’ll probably bake some more cakes and pies too. I just love keeping busy in the kitchen.

This Week

This week has been a short week for the kids, but a long week for me. I have been getting the house ready for Thanksgiving, and cooking like crazy.

Tuesday Agnes and I got to help out at Dylan’s school with the Thanksgiving feast. It was fun, and the kids were very polite too. Agnes enjoyed hanging out with the big kids too. Tuesday flew by way too fast, and before I knew it, the boys were out for the long weekend.

Wednesday, I started cooking ahead what I could for Thanksgiving dinner. I was in the kitchen for around nine hours, but I got everything done on the list for today. I still have more to cook for tomorrow.

I can’t wait for everyone to get here. We are all extra excited for Thanksgiving. Just in case I don’t make it back on tomorrow, wishing you and yours a very Happy Thanksgiving.

Thursday Thrifting With The Miss

This morning Agnes started drawing Christmas pictures. She is anxious for the holiday to arrive, and she really wants to dig out all of the Christmas lights. We were taking James lunch today, and we drove past a Flea Market that I haven’t been to in a while. After we were done at lunch, I thought we should stop in and see what we could find.

I spotted a really cute snowman, but it was way out of my price range. I also found a pretty cool bench, but the price just wasn’t for me.

Agnes spotted the booth filled with Christmas decorations, and she made a bee-line for it. She swooped up a big  plastic Santa, and said I have to buy this… I checked the price, as she was hugging the Santa, and said sure. She was so excited, and she already had a place in mind for it.

I found a little something for me too. This one is going to live with the rest of the kitchen collection.

We might go visit another favorite Antique shop tomorrow. I know it isn’t Small Business Saturday just yet, but I love spending the afternoons browsing the local shops.

The Miss is pretty happy with her find too.

One Week To Go

The kids only have two days of school next week, and Thanksgiving is almost here. I’ve got my menu finalized, and I’ve gone through my pantry to see what I already have on hand. I can’t wait to get to cooking, and rolling out pies.

The house is coming along. I still have a bit to tidy up upstairs, but the downstairs is looking ready for guests. I am so excited for Thanksgiving to get here. I love spending time with my loved ones.

I hope to get the rest of the chores tackled this week before the boys are out of school. I think I’ll get the Turkey on Friday, and finish up the rest of the shopping on Monday. I hope to then avoid the stores (and crowds) until the following Tuesday. We’ll see what happens though, the kids are plowing through snacks right now.

What is on your “to do” list for Thanksgiving?

Girl’s Day

James is back to work today, and the boys are busy at school. It is just the Miss and I, at home today. As much as I love all of my boys, I love having girl time with my little lady.

We’ll be hanging out, catching up around the house, and enjoying a bit of quiet too.
