Off to the Doctor and its Snowing too

I was hoping that the snow would wait until we were home from the Doctor, but it has arrived. I don’t think that we are going to get that much though… Now I’ve probably just jinxed myself and we are going to get a foot + 🙂

Thade is still not feeling well, and he is now taking his third nap for the day. We are heading out to the Doctor in about 45 minutes, so we’ll see how this goes. This is a check-up that I am a little nervous about, this one comes with shots. The last check-up with shots ended with me + 2 nurses to hold down a kicking and screaming Thade, it was not pretty.  My tummy is a little nervous today too… I’m planning on taking along his Blue Blanket and a favorite toy to help, and we are making a trip to Sonic for a Cherry-Chocolate Dr Pepper after the appointment. His favorite treat at the moment 😉

Wish me luck, and if you have any helpful advice to make the trip to the Doctor better, I could use it 🙂

  1. How did the visit go? My son had such awful fits about shots, even up this year! One time the Dr. told me to bring him back at 1pm, and when we arrived, they had him in an entire wing by himself! He had made such a fuss in line that he had scared the other little kids and they were all screaming. This year he cried, but he said that he is not scared anymore and won’t cry next time. I know- TMI- but at least you’re not alone!

  2. Thanks Mimi! I’m so sorry that your son was so upset about getting his shots, I’m still that way 😉 I hate having to get shots, so I’m right there with him. It sounds like you have a great Doctor too 🙂

    Thade lucked out yesterday, and our Doctor said that he was all caught up until he goes to school. He also had a bit of a fever, and she was worried that the shots would make the fever worse. I had been working with Thade and getting him all ready for the appointment and the shots too. When we were finished with the check-up he said “the Doctor forgot my shots, can we still go to Sonic”. He did a pretty good job yesterday, but I don’t know if he will be as cooperative the next time 😉
