My New Chair

Saturday morning, as my hubby was off to work, he hollered “Honey, there is something on the front proch that you need to see…” I ran to the door, and saw the new chair, and I knew that my brother had come by to visit, only we missed him.

So now I feel bad, we were upstairs when my brother came by, and my house is a vacuum for sound, and we completely missed him… Thade keep asking, “where’s Uncle Rob”, and then Dylan will point to the chair and say “Rob, Rob”. Maybe he’ll stop by on his way home, I’ve promised him Football and Chili if he stops by.

Either way, I’m going out and purchasing a Door Bell kit for the house, I don’t want to miss Rob again.

  1. Ooh, great new chair, I can’t wait to see what colour you spray-paint it.

    I don’t have a doorbell either LOL.

  2. Thanks Mimi! It might just end up pink 😉 I was also thinking about painting it a deep purple, and making a small cushion for the seat. Right now the chair is a favorite napping spot for the kitties 😉

  3. Thanks Susan! James brought me home a case of various colors of spray paint, so who knows what color the chair will end up 😉 My brother spotted the chair near his apartment after a tenant had moved out, we both thought it was a pretty cool free find.

I have got to get a doorbell, I think I’m going to get one of those that you plug in to the wall. If I am in the kitchen and a neighbor comes to the door, I never hear them… Usually Thade will run into the kitchen and tell me if there is a visitor, so it helps a little 😉

  4. Nice chair! I hope your brother stops by for the yummy chili. I bought my parents one of those doorbells that plug in years ago and it works well. Heather

  5. Thanks Heather! We hope that Rob makes it by too, we all miss him like crazy 😉 Thanks for the recommendation on the Door Bell, I’m going to have to get one, and then I won’t miss any visitors 🙂

  6. I loved how you said Thade usually runs to the tell you when you have company. Frugal meal we had tonight- I bought two poatoes and baked them in the microwave, then topped with left over chili, sour cream, cheese. Nice and Easy!- Heather
p.s. Wednesday is the official 1st of Oct- will you decorate then?? I am going to print out a bat cutout and have Jake help me cut out bats from construction paper to hang around the place. I am thinking of outlining them in glue and letting him sprinkle the glitter on.

  7. Thanks Heather! It is so funny Thade will run in the kitchen and tell me all about whomever is at the door, and then I make a mad dash to the door and apologize for not hearing them 😉 Dylan will just stand at the front door and wave and laugh, because he thinks it is a game 🙂

What a tasty dinner you had, and super fast too. I love your Halloween decoration idea, and I know that it will be so much fun for Jake too 🙂 We have been decorating the indoors just a bit, but I haven’t started on the outdoors just yet. I’ve been debating to buy Mums and Pumpkins, or not. The Mums are so pretty, but a little pricey… What to do?

  8. I agree. Here the mums are 3/12.00 and I have been debating too on buying one for our front porch. I think we are going to take the boys to the pumpkin farm this weekend. they are calling for a cool yet beautiful weekend ahead! OH- I think i forgot to tell you last week I hit some yard sales and found a hard plastic Radio Flyer wagon for 10 bucks!!!!!!! I was so thrilled! Hubby’s parents wanted to get the boys one for C-mas, so I told them to send us 10.00 and we’ll call it even. So I can’t wait to take the wagon to the pumkin farm and pull the boys around in it. HOping to get some good pics. Heather

  9. Thanks Heather! What an awesome find 🙂 I bet your boys will look so cute riding around in their new wagon. Enjoy the Pumpkin Patch, and the beautiful Fall weather too.

Mums are $2.50 for small and $5.00 for a large plant. There is also a local Mum Nursery that we might check out, and hopefully find some good prices. I was thinking 2 mums for the front porch, along with 2 large Pumpkins, but that will probably run $20.00 for the display, so I don’t know…
