My First Crocheted Blanket

I’ve been working on this crocheted afghan for almost a month. It is really starting to look like a blanket. I pack it along with me when I’m waiting for the boys to get out of school, and I work on it in the evenings too.

The kiddos have been asking for afghans too, and James has already claimed this one as his. I see a lot of crocheting in my future. I hope I get some more yarn for Christmas.

  1. What size yarn and hook are you using? I am trying to teach myself to crochet….just got started and it is going slow…lol. I have the chain down, now just trying to figure out the rest. You rock! 🙂

  2. Thanks Ellie! That is so cool that you are learning how to crochet too. It is so much fun. I can’t wait to see what you are working on.

I am using a 5.00 MM aluminum hook, and two different sizes of yarn. They are 6mm, 6.5mm, I picked them up at Wal-mart. They are Red Heart super saver, and Red Heart with love brand. I really like the yarn, it is great to learn on.

I am single crocheting the afghan, but my mil has taught me how to double crochet too.

Congrats again, and let me know how your project is going.
