My Cats ate My Garden

One of my hopes for gardening was to harvest my seeds, and use them to help plant next year’s garden. It would get me one small step closer towards greener sustainability. I had one Cucumber left, and a handful of Green Beans so I seeded the veggies and got the seeds ready to dry.

I even had a nice sunny window to place the seeds in. They needed to dry for a week, so I marked the paper towel with the date when they should be ready. I placed them in the window, and hoped for the best.

I don’t even think they were in the window for ten minutes, before my kitties found them and ate most of my organic sustainable garden. I was a little grumpy, but I bet the kitties enjoyed the tasty organic treat.

Oh well, so much for next year’s sustainable garden…

  1. Thanks Marva! Isn’t it funny though, my kitties get in to everything. They looked pretty pleased that they found some yummy treats.

There is one more Farmer’s market left for the season, and I think that Dylan and I will visit it on Wednesday. I might have to ask if anyone would be willing to share some seeds, maybe if I tell them my kitty story, they will 😉 Sending big hugs your way!

  2. Nico I can sympathize with you. Our daughters cats are lving with us and I have to put everything up. Bread, butter, anything in a package has to be put out of sight. We have a tabby just like your and basically same marking

Hope you can find some seeds

    Have a good week

  3. Aw…I bet your garden seeds were yummy for your kitties. My mom dries her seeds out on top of her fridge, seems to be nice and warm up there. But we don’t have any curious kitties to contend with.

  4. Thanks Vicki! Kitties are fun, but they do get in to everything! Mine love baked goods, so I have to keep the bread in the fridge at all times 😉 I hope that you are doing well, and enjoying the Autumn weather! Big hugs 🙂

  5. Thanks Shaunna! I was so mad at the kitties, but oh well, what can you do about it 😉 My kitties get in to everything, and I’m constantly tripping over one of them, but I love them, so I put up with their kitty craziness 😉

  6. Thanks Susan! The kitties were pretty pleased with their snacks, and I was happy that it didn’t make them sick. That is a great idea that you Mom has, the fridge would be a great spot for seeds! I wonder if my kitties could jump up there !?! 🙂

  7. Thanks Heather! I love my kitties, but they give me a lot of trouble. If I am in the kitchen, they are right there under my feet 😉
