January’s Tasty Treats

One month has passed already. January was a funny month here, we had a lot of plumbing troubles, so I wasn’t baking as much as usual. We had all of the repairs made, and hopefully February will be a better month.

We celebrated Thade’s 10th birthday, and we enjoyed a few extra days off from school too. I have a few photos to share from my kitchen.

I rearranged the kitchen a time or two in January. I still don’t have everything just quite right…

The first week in January I tried my best to avoid the store, and use up what I had on hand at home. I had all of the ingredients to make Pumpkin Pie.

I made a few batches of Cinnamon Rolls from the stockpile too.

More stockpile goodies. Chex Mix and Homemade Mini Corn Dogs. Perfect lunch for a Football watching lazy Sunday.

I always try to keep Chocolate Chip cookie supplies stocked up too.

I tried out a batch of Cherry Duff. Blackberry Duff is still my favorite.

I made a quick Chocolate Snack Cake, and iced it with homemade Chocolate frosting.

I’ve been baking Cornbread in different dishes to see which one bakes the best. I think my favorite is in a pie plate. The cornbread wedges are perfect for dipping into soup or chili.

I used my sourdough started to make Biscuits. They were pretty darn tasty.

The kids requested a big batch of Pizza Rolls.

This Cinnamon Cake was a big hit!

Thade wanted to take homemade cupcakes to school for his birthday. I made up a big batch of Chocolate Cupcakes.

I also made a few Vanilla ones too.

I made a few batches of Buttercream frosting too. The vanilla buttercream was delicious.

The Chocolate buttercream was crazy tasty too.

We took a few cupcakes to the neighbors.

I made Thade a Chocolate Bundt Cake for his birthday, but we had to cancel the birthday party due to an ice storm. Guess I’ll have to make another one in February for the party redo.

We are snowed in today, and I think it is a great day to spend some time in the kitchen. Stay warm everybody.
