The weather is too hot outside, so it is giving me plenty of projects to do indoors. I’m starting small and inexpensive with improving the upstairs bathroom. I often joke that showering is my only hobby, so I decided to replace the shower head, and re-caulk the tub too.
Our old shower head was getting pretty gross, due to the very hard water that we have. With a little elbow grease and trusty pliers, I got the old one off, and a new low-flow model on. I hope this project will help out the water bill a little too. The new shower head only cost me $5.00, and a few blisters (yucky old shower head).
I also gave the tub a thorough clean just like the ladies over at How Clean is Your House. I also scraped out all of the old caulk too. I waited until the shower had time to dry, and for Dylan to take a nap, and I re-caulked the tub, walls, and all of the seams around the outside too. The shower looks brand new, and a tube of caulk only cost me $2.88!
So far my project has only cost me $7.88, and has made for a much nicer showering environment. Now I just need to get to painting and I’ll be all set 😉
