Homemade Cinnamon Rolls

I don’t know if there is any better weekend breakfast than Cinnamon Rolls fresh from the oven. Although the store bought rolls are pretty good, I really enjoy making these weekend treats from scratch.

I use a great recipe for Sweet Roll Dough, but I’ve altered the recipe for the filling just a bit.  I use 1/2 cup Sugar and 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar for the filling. I go on ahead make a double batch, so we have plenty of Cinnamon Rolls for breakfast and snacks too.

I also added just a little bit extra Vanilla in the Glaze, because we love Vanilla around here.

The Cinnamon Rolls are a family favorite, and I’ve even taken these to MOPS a few times. Thade has a lot of fun helping to make the Cinnamon Sugar filling, and I just love the way the kitchen smells as the Rolls are baking. I hope to make them for Christmas breakfast for the kiddos this Christmas.

  1. Oh my gosh, those look so good! They look as good as store-bought, that’s for sure. Mine never look like that lol…

  2. Thanks Nana! I’ll save you a Cinnamon Roll 🙂 You are too sweet! The Cinnamon Rolls are really easy to make, and the Vanilla Glaze is oh so tasty!

  3. Thanks Susan! You are too sweet! Give the rolls a try, they are really fun to make, and so tasty too. I was lucky and I had a few leftover from MOPS today for the boys. I hope that you and your family are feeling better 🙂

  4. I should have grabbed one of those cinnamon rolls…I just had to pick last week to start paying attention to the food I make 🙁

  5. Thanks Stacey! We still have a few left at our house, one could be yours, but you’ll have to get the Cinnamon Roll before Thade does, they are his favorite. He had 3 of them yesterday. I’m stumped on what to bring for the next meeting. I was thinking about bringing an Apple Crisp. What do you think you will be bringing to the MOPS meeting?

  6. I am still stuck on what to bring to MOPS. I need to get my bon bons made up today for a sale tomorrow and I am just so drained I can’t come up with anything good yet. I may go the easy sticky route and make more bubble bread. Apple crisp sounds good. I may have to cheat on my diet a little Friday morning.

  7. Thanks Stacey! Bon Bons sound pretty good to me 🙂 I hope that your sale goes well. I’m debating something sweet or something savory for MOPS on Friday. I’ll probably stick with the Apple Crisp, I have everything on hand to make it 🙂
