Homemade Christmas Cards

Making Christmas Cards is one of my favorite Christmas activities. This year I really wanted to use what I already had on hand. I went through all of my supplies, and found Card Stock that would do the job. I needed a few more cards than I originally thought, so I visited our local $1 shop, and found holiday printer paper that I could embellish.

The cards turned out great, and even Thade was impressed with the embossing. Now I just need to get the Christmas cards addressed, stamped,  and into the mail box for Christmas!

  1. Thanks Marva! They were fun to make, and Thade really enjoyed watching me emboss. I hope that you are feeling better 🙂 Sending big hugs your way!

  2. Way to go Thifty Momma! I never thought of using stationary paper for cards! I forget if I told you- our dinner plans last Friday with the other couple(lasagna) turned out well! And my home was super cleaned so I didn’t have to worry about cleaning all weekend! I would recommend the spicy Ital sausage mixed with meat for lasagna- gave it much more flavor! Even my mother raved about it!

  3. Love your cards Nico!!!! You are SOOO talented!!! Pass some of your talent on to me!! 😛
    Sending hugs and love!!!

  4. Thanks Heather! It sounds like your dinner was so much fun, and your lasagna sounds amazing 🙂

The cards were quick and easy to make, but addressing all of them is another story all together 😉

  5. Thanks Ellie! I just love making Christmas cards, and the kiddos had fun watching me emboss. Thade kept calling it magic as the embossing powder melted before his eyes 😉

  6. Thanks Mimi! I picked up the printer paper at our $1.00 Shop, how I wish we had a Dollar Tree locally, they are the best 🙂

  7. Thanks Shaunna! You are too sweet. The cards were a lot of fun to make, and the kiddos even helped out where they could. Sending big hugs and lots of love your way 🙂

  8. I haven’t embossed in years, but i bet my toddler would think it was magic too. Wonder where that embossing set got to??

  9. Aldi score for the day- bagged salad for 25 cents! It was expiring tomorrow! I grabbed two bags! Too bad lettuce doesnt’ freeze well! Nico- what kinds of Christmas cookies are you planning on baking?

  10. Thanks Maggie! I really enjoy making paper crafts, and I love any reason to get out my heat gun 🙂

  11. Thanks Heather! Great job at Aldi! What are you planning on making with your find?

I bet Jake would love embossing too, Thade thought it was so cool. I hope that next year Thade can help out with the stamping.

I’m working on a few cookies to make this year, and maybe even a few batches of muffins too. I know I’ll be making Snickerdoodles, they are easy to make, and super tasty too. What will you be baking this Christmas?

  12. My dad was known for his soft Snickerdoodles. It’s neat that you are fond of them also! I am thinking of peanut butter cookies with the hershey kiss inside, sugar cookies(that Jake can help decorate), not sure what else. My aunt loves Chex Mix so I will make a big batch of that also.

  13. Thanks Heather! YUM 🙂 All of your Christmas treats sound so tasty 🙂 I love Chex Mix too, I should really make a batch of that for us to snack on. I’ve been thinking of adding Chocolate Fudge to the Christmas goodies too.

  14. I’ve never made fudge. Lots of older relatives assure me it’s easy to do, but i don’t know. Watch for Chex Ceral as loss leaders this time around the holidays. We have a WEIS market and it has for 3 for 4.50!! Or I saw Walmart has it for 1.68. With coupons that’s a steal!!

  15. Did you ever try ceral straws for Thade and Dylan? I’m not big into manufactored items but these rock! Jake loves them and it encourages him to drink milk. Cheapest I’ve found is at Target.

  16. Thanks Heather! Thade is a big fan of cereal straws too, he loves the cocoa ones 🙂 Great find on the Chex Cereal too!

Fudge is a little tricky for me, I either get it just right, or not right at all… Either way Thade doesn’t mind, he just loves Fudge 🙂
