This one is back too… This year we decided to check out Trunk-or-Treat.
Shaunna brought Sheldon over in the afternoon, so we got all of the boy’s in their costumes and ready to go Trick-or-Treating. Shaunna and I decided to dress up too, and we needed a costume quickly, so we decided on dressing as 80’s Aerobic Instructors. Our costumes were complete with side ponytails, scrunchies, leg warmers, and lots of really bad blue eyeshadow.
Trunk-or-treat was so much fun, and there was an amazing turn out too. They estimated that there were 2000 people that attended this year. There were bouncy castles, a petting zoo, free food and beverages, and of course plenty of candy. We will definitely visit Trunk-or-Treat again next Halloween.
The kiddos came home with a ton of candy too.
I hope that everyone had a safe and very Happy Halloween!

That trunk-or treat looks awesome!! Ours was inside (b/c of rain)with a small turn out this year. Hoping for a better one next year! My goal this week- not to eat so much candy that’s just sitting around!
Question for you- I’m looking for even more ways to cut back on my grocery spending- have you ever tried ground turkey in recipes instead of ground beef? What did it taste like?
I almost forgot to mention Hubby and I had a wonderful Mexican dinner out last Fri night! When we went to sleep we recounted fav. memories of times together over the years. Hubby isn’t very romantic so this was a special treat to hear him tell his fav. stories. Many I had forgotten.. Now back to hectic lives with two wonderful little boys! Say a prayer for my patience tomorrow!
Thanks Heather! It sounds like you and your hubby had an amazing Anniversary! I’m super happy for you both 🙂 That is great that you both had a nice evening out too.
Trunk-or-treat was great, but Dylan was a little nervous about the crowd. The event was a lot of fun, and the kiddos came home with way too much candy. I’m having the same problem, I can’t resist a Reese’s Peanut Butter cup for breakfast 😉
Good question, I’ve only used Turkey in Sloppy Joe’s and the boy’s actually like it better that way. It tastes a little different to me though, but I don’t mind the savings. I also like to make my own turkey stock, and use it in place of Chicken Stock in recipes. I really need to work on my grocery budget (again) too, and get ready to stockpile for Winter.
Sending big hugs your way!
Thanks for the turkery input. We use chiken stock, I could try the turkey. I don’t know if I’m brave enough for turkey sloppy joes- but I do like the idea of saving. If I come across any good recipes, I’ll send them your way!
