Giving Up on Fast Food

Well just about… Tonight has been an evening of Fast Food mishaps. Thade really wanted Pizza, and hubby and I thought that sounded like a great idea for dinner. I called in the order, and we waited the mandatory 35-40 minutes. Then James and Thade went out into the icy weather to get the yummy Pizza. Here comes problem #1, they came back empty handed. The Pizza that was there waiting was ours, but it had been entered into the system wrong, and it would be another 30 minute wait, to make a new Pizza and correct the mistake. I called up, and they said that they had no record of me ever calling in the order, and now there are about 5 orders ahead of me, but if I wanted to I could place another order and wait another 30 minutes. I said no thanks and I would go elsewhere. How frustrating, so I decided to drive to another place.

So here I go into the icy weather to drive to the second place. I take my time driving across town, the roads are a little slick. I pull-up to the Drive Thru place my order and guess what, here comes problem #2. They are out of the one thing that my Husband has requested for dinner. I mutter under my breath “you’ve got to be kidding me”, I knew I had to come home with something, the boys are starving. I order, a second choice and hope for the best. When I come home James asks, “did they have food”, and I have to say “kinda, they were out of your favorite”. He wasn’t mad though, I think after the long wait, he was just happy to have food 😉

So the Fast Food ended up taking about an hour, and two trips into the icy weather. It was tasty though, but still a little frustrating…

  1. I get so frustrated when things like that happen!!! It makes me feel bad, like God is trying to tell me I should have just cooked in the first place:). It has happened twice in the last 2 1/2 months. Too much!

Glad all worked out and get got your guys fed! Blessings!!!!

  2. Thanks Marva! Sorry to hear of your Fast Food mishaps too. I tried to look at the situation, and think maybe there was a reason that we shouldn’t have eaten the Pizza. I’m sure that we will order there again, hopefully with a better outcome 😉

  3. That’s like something that would happen to me. I seem to have a fast food cuse on me. Whenever I got through a drive thru window, I get the wrong food. Now I refuse to leave the window without checking every single thing and the entire line is held up. I’ve given up hope of ever having a decent pizza delivered, so I jusy make my own! Gee- it’s frustrating and I feel for you.

  4. Thanks Mimi! I’m sorry that you have the same fast food woes. I was so frustrated last night, and it didn’t help that the roads were so icy. I wish I could make yummy pizza, then I would be just about finished with fast food all together 🙂
