Last night it got pretty cold, so I had to turn on the heater this morning. My stomach turned at the very thought of those gigantic gas bills from last year. Today I’m doing some little projects around the house to try and beat the huge gas bill.

I started off by grabbing 2 large rugs that we were storing upstairs, and I brought them downstairs to keep the hardwood floors warm. My hubby and I go back and forth on the subject of carpeting the hardwood, I hope the rugs will work for now. The rugs also became the cat-wrestling arena, they have been battling each other all day.

This one won’t help the gas bill, but it will keep the kitties warm. I got out some flannel (I had purchased  just in case I had a girl) and I made a washer/dryer cozy for the cats to snooze on. It was a really easy project to sew, and I stuffed it with quilt batting.

I also got started on a few throw pillows. I hope to get to sew a little more later, but Dylan is being a little grumpy at the moment. Oh well, back to it.
