Flu Shots?

Today Dylan and I had a few errands to run while Thade was busy at Preschool. We stopped off at Dollar General, and then a quick run to Walgreens for their Colgate-Palmolive sale. I spotted FLU SHOTS coming soon on the marquee, and after last year’s horrible flu, I wonder if we should all get one?

I’m allergic to eggs though, and totally needle-phobic so I don’t know if I’ll get one. I’m definitely stocking the pantry with soup for Flu season though… I also picked up some cough syrup for the kiddos, just in case.

What about you, do you plan on getting a Flu Shot this season?

  1. Here in Alberta, it is recommended that your whole family gets the flu shot if one member has asthma…and that’s me, so we all get it. Even Gramma does. But it’s free here, it’s just a matter of waiting in the ridiculous line-ups.

I used to get the flu for 2 weeks at a time, and be horribly, horribly sick. Now I still get it, but it’s a minor blip…not nearly what it was.

  2. Hubby and I and the kiddos get flu shots every year. The kids have gotten them since they were 6 mos. old, their pediatrician recommends it.
I hate the flu, so I’d get a shot every month if it would keep me healthy!

  3. When I was teaching I got the shot every year. Last year we all got it, but the boys and I had to pay out of pocket. Hubby gets it free at work. So if we get it again this year, we will go to clinic. I think I did let the dr. give it to the baby last check-up. Then he gets another does at next check up. I’m jealous of your Walgreens stop. We don’t have one close by.
Oh, I went and dropped off consignment items yesterday. Today is preview sale and vounteers and consigners can get in- so think of me tonight when I am in there fighting for the good stuff!!! It’s crazy in there, tons of people just grabbing all they can get. But I love the thrill of the hunt! Heather

  4. Thanks Susan! That is so great that you and your whole family can all receive the flu shot for free 🙂 That would really help out a lot.

We all got the Flu last year, and I’ve become very Flu-phobic, but with my Egg allergy I don’t know if I can get the shot. It might be worth looking into though.

  5. Thanks Mimi! That is great that you all get the Flu shot and stay healthy. I worry about getting the flu, we had it last year and it was so awful. We might all have to get the shot this year, especially since Thade is in school, and bringing home the Preschool germs.

  6. Thanks Heather! I hope that this flu season isn’t as bad as last year’s 😉 I think I’ll do a little more research on the shot, and see if we should get it. I can see that while you were teaching, a flu shot would be a necessity. I worry with Thade in school, just how many times we’ll have the cold/flu…

Our Walgreens is great, and they are so helpful there. They always have the best deal in town on diapers, and many times Milk too.

Did you get to go to your Mom’s group? Great job on getting all of your consignment items finished! I hope that you find some great deals too 🙂 Let me know how the sale goes.

  7. Nicole I and hubby have to get the flu shot every year because of my lung diease and his diabetes. But I saw on the news locally that our Health Department was urging everyone to get it. However, not sure but if you are allergic to eggs I don’t think you can get the shot. I would call your local health department to see what the criteria is for the flu shot

  8. Thanks Vicki! I will definitely check out the flu shot options, I’ve already caught the flu early in the season, and I don’t want to get it again 😉 I hope that you and your hubby stay healthy this flu season.
