I have a lot of fears, some strange and some random, but they are mine. This year I’m starting a whole new decade in my life, and I’m getting rid of my fears… Here are my big five.
- I’m scared of the Dentist…
- I’m scared of driving in the city with all 3 kiddos in the car
- I’m scared of flying in an airplane
- I’m pretty sure that zombies and aliens don’t exist, so I can’t really do anything about that one…
- I have a pretty big fear of driving in the snow and getting stuck.
Here is how I’m fighting my fears…
- I visited the Dentist, after putting off the visit for 6 years, and I lucked out and had a very patient and not scary Dentist. I know it seems silly, but this has been a fear of mine for decades. Facing this fear will make me a bit healthier, and thanks to the great Dentist, I’m ready to get the rest of my work done.
- I faced this fear too. I always want to visit my Brother in K.C., but I get bombarded with a lot of negative comments about me driving in the city with the kiddos, so I tackled this one head on. I stuck to my kids schedules, and made the trip twice. Easy peasy, and the kids had a blast too.
- This one is getting tackled later on in the year. I’ve flown many times before, but I still get scared. I don’t want to miss out on traveling the World because I am afraid of airplanes…
- Well, to my knowledge I haven’t had an encounter with a UFO, and my town hasn’t been over-run with Zombies, so this one shouldn’t worry me too much.
- Thanks to kindergarten I’ve faced this fear, and with all 3 kids in the car. Yep, I’m becoming a snow driver, and I’ve also gotten myself stuck in the snow while taking my kiddo to school. I kept my head clear, and the kiddos quiet while I got myself unstuck. Oh the joys of Winter-time.
So what about you… Do you have any fears? What are you doing to become Fearless in 2010?
Hi Nicole!
I have a fear of poisonous snakes, such as snakes hidden in the grass or snakes in the yard-yuk!
I also have a fear of heights, but not of planes or theme park rides. More like walking over a wobbly bridge or being on top of a skyscraper roof.
I used to have more rational fears, but I got over them just like you did.
Great post!
Have a fun week with your kiddos.
I am scared of the dark…….probably always will be.
Great post! So……..are you gonna share about your future trip…….
Hugs and Blessings!!!
I share your fear of the dentist even though I love mine…..I don’t care to fly either but do…..how else would I have seen some beautiful and wonderful places? I don’t like driving windy roads with big drop off’s below….that really freaks me out! I might put that fear to rest this summer as we are taking a 7 state road trip….there will be mountains involved…… And I’m with Marva…..going to share your upcoming airplane adventure? 🙂
