Well Day Camp was a wash out today, thanks to a Flood Warning, and Thade was so sad. I thought it would be fun to have day camp at home. I picked out a recipe for Peanut Butter Pie, and I wrote it on the back of a paper plate so Thade could tell me how many of each ingredient needed to go into the pie. On the other side of the plate I made a pie outline, and got out the crayons for him to decorate his own pie. He happily colored a Strawberry and Peanut Butter Pie, while I assembled dessert for later.
Once the Pie was ready to go in the freezer I got out a bag of chocolate chips. I thought the pie needed a little something extra. Thade helped sprinkle on the chocolate chips, but not all of them made it in the pie, a few made it in to Thade’s tummy ; ) Now he is all smiles, and he even said that “Mommy at-home Day Camp was pretty fun.”

Aw, what a great mama you are! That pie looks so good…I love peanut butter in baking. But alas, Scott is allergic to peanuts so I never get to enjoy it.
Thanks Susan! Thade was so bummed today and we are stuck indoors all day. I’ll sneak you a piece of the Peanut Butter Pie 🙂
Thanks Nana! Thade was so sad this morning, but chocolate chips fix everything 😉 The park is completely flooded, and there is more rain on the way. I just hope that Day Camp will be back on for Wednesday!
You are such a fun mom. Way to save the day and I love the pie plate idea. Awesome!
Thanks Amy! Thade loves his Day Camp, and was so sad when it was rained out. He had fun at “Mommy Day Camp”, and I got another piece of art to proudly display on the fridge 😉
Nicole- you are so smart to make a stay-at-home camp! Praying you don’t have to make too many more of those though- and Thade can go off to camp! Heather
Thanks Heather! Thade really loves day camp, and I hope that the rainy weather stays away today. Next week he starts Craft Camp, but it is indoors, so no rain outs 😉
