I Think I Could Live At The Day Spa

Tuesday I was treated to an extra special Birthday Present! I got to spend the afternoon being pampered at the Courtland Day Spa, thanks to my best friend Shaunna and my Mom too. The girl’s had the entire afternoon planned for me, and I had the best time.

The Courtland Day Spa is located in the historic Courtland Hotel. The Day Spa features AVEDA products, along with Manicures/Pedicures, Massages, Facials, Spa Treatments, and full Salon and Make-Up services too.

I loved the beautiful woodwork throughout the Hotel, and the gorgeous pressed tin ceilings in the Day Spa.

My Mom and Shaunna treated me to a one hour massage, a pedicure, and I also got my hair styled too. It was such a fun and relaxing afternoon, and the service at the Spa is amazing. I felt so much better after the massage, and I loved the pedicure. I learned some great styling tips for my hair too. I’m pretty sure I could spend every day at the Day Spa, if only my hubby would let me…

My new Blue Toes!

How I wish my hair could look this awesome everyday!

The trip to the Courtland Day Spa was so wonderful, and very relaxing too. I really appreciated the great gift from my Mom and Shaunna too.  I think I’m going to treat myself to a Springtime manicure very soon.

Let’s Go Bowling!

Many many years ago my brother and I spotted this super cool bowling alley, and one day we hoped to get to go and bowl there. Today James and I decided to surprise Thade and take him Bowling! We also thought it would be fun to visit the bowling alley that my brother and I have always wanted to bowl at… I still hope to take Rob there one day.

We got to the bowling alley a little early, so we had a little time to waste… I figured it was a good opportunity to get some pics of my guys.

We have been bowling before, but this was Thade’s very first time to get to bowl. There was even little bitty cute shoes for Thade to wear too.

Thade had a fun time, and he did pretty good too!

I spotted a pretty pink bowling ball! Oh how I wish that bowling ball could be mine forever.

We all had so much fun, but there could only be one winner!

Yep James was the big winner of both games!!! Maybe one day I’ll finally beat him…

Nico in the City, One More Time

On Saturday we went to visit my Brother Rob! We also got to visit his adorable kitties too.

I had a plan for this trip to Rob’s. I needed to pick up a few presents for James Birthday, and our anniversary too. I knew that Rob would have some pretty good gift suggestions, also Rob doesn’t mind driving all of us all over the city!

We were headed up North to shop a few stores, and we ran into a lot of traffic. Rob told us that Barack Obama was in town for a Rally, and we couldn’t believe the crowds. My Mom found out that there were 100,000 people at the Rally.

I love the city. There are amazing Fountains everywhere you look, and art work around every turn.

The shopping is fun, but honestly I love just walking around the city and viewing all of the amazing buildings. Dylan loves architecture too, he would look out of the window at all of the tall skyscrapers, and say “oh wow”.

Rob and I always have to visit the Plaza. It is by far one of my favorite places. There are beautiful fountains, incredible shops, and even a few places to get an iced coffee.

Before we headed back to Rob’s, I had to get an Vanilla Iced Bliss Coffee at Latte Land, they are so tasty!

The day was so much fun, and I really appreciate Rob letting us visit for the day. Thade is still talking about the city non-stop today, and we can’t wait to visit again!

Our Trip To Grandma’s

Yesterday was my Mother in laws birthday, and I was planning on taking the boy’s to visit her. She had a few places in mind to take the boys, and I had a few errands to run while I was in town too. We both decided to meet at Payless Shoes and do a little shopping. Thade found a pair of Transformers tennis shoes, and I picked up a pair of Summer shoes for Dylan. It was buy one get one half off after all 😉

After the shoe shopping it was getting pretty close to lunchtime and both boys were hungry. The birthday girl suggested Chili’s and that sounded great to me too. We ordered Chips and Salsa to munch on while we waited for lunch, and Thade happily colored on his kids menu munching away on chips. Lunch gave us plenty of time to catch up on all of the gossip, and I ate way too much tasty Margarita Chicken 🙂

We then headed to Grandma’s house, so I could change Dylan and get Thade ready to go to the park. Thade was so anxious to get to the park, he just couldn’t wait. Grandma had a great plan to head over to Lincoln Park and visit Kiddieland, a mini-amusement park just for kids.

We were all excited to go and visit, this was my first time there too. Grandma got a few tickets for Thade and we were ready to go and have fun!

Thade was a little nervous at first, it was his first trip to an amusement park, and he wasn’t too sure about the rides. He got a little bit of courage (and a Ring Pop) and he was ready to ride the boats. After the boats, he was ready to ride every single ride in the park 🙂

The park even has a Train that you can ride, and it was Dylan’s favorite. It is a small train that takes you all around the park, and it was so much fun we rode it twice 🙂

Dylan had so much fun riding the train, and waving at everybody as we went by. Thade thought the train was a little loud…

We all had a great time at the park and Thade is ready to go back and visit again soon. Kiddieland even has a Roller Coaster and a Small Ferris Wheel to ride too!

It was a fun trip to Grandma’s, and I think that she had a great time too 🙂

Our Day Trip To K.C.

Saturday we made the drive up to Kansas City, and the day was filled with fun and craziness. Both boys were so excited to see their Uncle Rob, and Nana and I were pretty excited too.

We met up at Rob’s apartment, and then we planned the day from there. Rob took us by where he works, and it was amazing. He is right by Union Station, and I couldn’t believe the view.

Rob works in the art district, and it is so beautiful there. I’m a little jealous of his amazing drive to work. He drives past historical sites, art museums, and amazing skyscrapers. I love architecture and I hope one day to end up in a big city with a view like the pictures above.

We then headed over to Minsky’s on the River Market for some tasty Kansas City Pizza, and it was so delicious. We also got to check out the Open Air Farmer’s Market too, it was amazing. I spotted way too many awesome deals on fruits and veggies. I’d shop there weekly if I could.

We had a little detour though… After lunch and checking out the sites my car started acting up. Luckily Rob was driving and headed us over to Firestone, were we got to hang out for about an hour and a half while my car got some diagnostic work done 😉

Even though we spent the afternoon at Firestone, we all had a fun time just hanging out. Thade was getting a little stir crazy though 😉 There turned out to be nothing wrong with my car, thank goodness. I might have a sensor going out. The car was safe to drive and we were ready to get back on the road.

We took the kiddos and Nana back to Rob’s. Dylan was ready to eat and take a nap, and Thade was ready to chill out on the couch for a bit. Rob drove me to the Plaza so I could pick up a present for James. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Plaza, it is truly awesome. There are endless places to eat and shop, and you can people watch all day. The architecture is incredible, and every where you look is a lovely fountain or a beautiful statue. I’m so ready to move to K.C. now 😉

Rob said he would buy coffee, and you know I can’t say no to an iced coffee. He introduced me to Latte Land, and I’m a huge fan now! I had a Vanilla Bliss Blended Coffee, and I have to say it was even tastier than my beloved Starbucks Frappuccino. Just one more reason I’m ready to move to K.C.

We all had such a great time, and thanks again to Rob for having us up to visit. I can’t wait to go and visit again 🙂
