Breakfast Success

I’m always trying to get my picky toddler to eat more. Today we attempted Homemade Pancakes, oh yes from scratch. I was in charge of mixing the eggs, milk, and vegetable oil, and Thade was in charge of the dry ingredients. He loves to stir! He liked seeing how the batter came together, but still a little reluctant to try the pancake. I asked him to try just one bite with Maple Syrup, and he loved it! He has even requested pancakes for breakfast tomorrow 🙂

Party Supply Day

I think we might get our supply shopping done today for Thade’s birthday party. I just wish it was a little warmer outside, I hate to get the kiddos out in the cold. It will be fun to pick out decorations with Thade, and see what he likes. I’m also walking the toy aisles with him to see what he would like for gifts. Hubby and I haven’t been shopping yet, and after Christmas, we have no idea what to get.

Our little guy is turning 4, any suggestions for cool gifts?

Party Planning :)

Somebody is turning 4 this month, and he loves Spiderman! Have you figured out who?

It’s Thade!

This morning Thade and I have been talking about Party Planning for his birthday. Thade has some pretty great ideas for his party too. Here is what he’s requested (his words)

  • A Rectangle Cake with Chocolate Icing
  • A Blanket on the Table (tablecloth)
  • Lots of decorations!!!

I’m planning on baking the Birthday Cake, and my Brother and I are throwing around some ideas for Ice Cream Treats for the Party. Now I need to find the decorations and keep them budget friendly. I’m thinking Balloons and Streamers in Spiderman Red and Blue. I think I’ll decorate the Dining Room only, and that way there isn’t too much to clean up after the party.

I need to make the invitations, and get to shopping! I know Thade can’t wait too much longer for his birthday, and we can’t wait to celebrate with him too 🙂

The Dude with the Tude

Yesterday was just one of those days with my toddler, he was grumpy all day, and was in time-out a few times too. He even had to stay home from the store with Daddy, due to his bad attitude. I don’t know what has changed the usually happy-go-lucky kiddo into the Dude with the Bad Attitude.

It looks like today is going to be the same. He is moping around, and pouting, I hope that this is just a phase, and he’ll be back to cheerful soon 🙂

Talking Christmas with My Toddler

Christmas seems to be everywhere. Locally it started at Walgreens and Wal-Mart before Halloween was over. Last week downtown was completely decorated. Snow may be on the way by Thanksgiving, and Thade is pretty sure that it is Christmas now.

We still have a little while before Christmas, and I know he is getting anxious. We sat down last week to talk about the upcoming holidays.  I asked him “what do you like about Christmas?” Thade quickly replied “snow, I love to walk on it, and listen to it crunch.” I thought how sweet, and then he said “and we are going to get a Playstation 3”. Snow maybe, Playstation 3 I don’t think so.

What are some of your favorite things about Christmas? Do you have any family traditions for the Holidays?
