Sign Up Day

Today is going to be a busy day, with lots of errands to be run. Today I’m signing Thade up for Tot Tee-Ball, he is pretty excited about that one. I’m also going to sign him up for Craft Camp, and Tot Day Camp too, it looks like Thade is going to have a busy Summer…

I’ve got to get ready, and get the kiddos ready too, we are picking up James at work and taking him to lunch in about an hour 😉 I’m hungry all ready.

I hope that everyone is having a great day, and that you aren’t too busy 😉

Our Little Bird

About a week ago we spotted a little tuft of dried grass on our fence post, and a little Robin not too far from it. I pulled a chair for Thade up to the side door, and he watched for hours as the little bird flew from fence post to ground working on her little nest. Even the kitty became obsessed with the busy little bird.

I thought it would be a fun little task to gather up a few items for the little bird and Thade could help out too. We ran through the house and gathered up strings, cotton, and anything else that would make a warm nest for those little blue eggs.

We carefully placed all of the found items on the large tree and along the fence outside, and Thade had fun scattering all of the bird nest helpers around the yard. We waited until morning and spotted a few of our found items newly tucked away by the Momma Robin in her nest, Thade was thrilled.

Every morning he pulls his chair up to the side door, and watches the little bird, and the kitty joins him watching from the Buffet… But the kitty is watching for different reasons 😉 We just might have to go out an invest in a little Bird Feeder this weekend, I think that Thade would like that.

What an Evening (yucky post)

I had hoped that it was going to be a nice and quiet evening last night. I had finished up all of the laundry early, and both kids seemed to be feeling much better. I brought the boys upstairs at about 8:00 p.m., and Thade was ready to get his haircut. Thade was great, and didn’t complain one bit about getting the haircut. After the cut, it was his bath-time, and he said that he was getting really sleepy. He still needed to take his medicine before bedtime, and he did so with no complaints.

He said that he wanted to watch a little t.v., and I thought cool, it will give me a little bit of time to get Dylan’s bath too. I was getting Dylan ready for bath time, when Thade started crying. He was screaming “I need to sleep, I don’t feel good”, and then he threw up all over his bed, and all over the floor. I scooped him up and put him in the bath-tub. James watched Thade while I went to clean up Thade’s bed. And oh the mess was everywhere, I had to get all of the bedding and the pillows into the wash fast. So I gathered up the laundry, flipped the mattress, cleaned up all the mess,  re-made the bed, and got Thade out of the bath-tub and teeth brushed.

I still had to get the laundry downstairs and into the washer to soak, and trust me I had to grab a shower before I could give Dylan a bath, and clean up the bathtub. Yuck. Thade said that he was feeling much better and even requested some Saltines. I finally got Dylan a bath, who was pretty ticked that he had to wait that long. The flu is still giving Dylan lots of trouble, and the teething doesn’t help matters too much either.

So we called it an early night, and I got to sleep for a little bit. At 2:00 a.m. through 5:30 a.m. the Teething Tyrant was up and in quite a mood. So it was another late night, with little sleep, and two sick kids for Nico. My goodness, I hope that everyone gets better soon, I need a break 😉

Urgent Care, My Second Home

Well this morning James and I were feeling much better. He still has the cough, and I still have the nausea, but we were both finally a little better. Dylan took an extra long nap this afternoon, and I got a few chores finished around the house. Thade was still coughing and miserable, and was resting on the big comfy chair. I decided to take a nap and rest while I could.

At 3:00 p.m. James was very worried that Thade was still snoozing, and we checked him for a fever. It was 101, so we thought it would be best to pay one more visit to Urgent Care and get him checked out. There has been a lot of RSV and Pneumonia in the area, and we thought better safe than sorry. It took a little convincing, but Thade was pretty happy to go.

James watched Dylan, and Thade and I headed out to Urgent Care. He still had a fever, and the Doctor said that it might just be a really bad case of the flu, but to keep an eye on the cough. If the cough gets worse he will be put on a Nebulizer and sent in for a chest x-ray.  Let’s all hope that the cough gets better, tonight we were sent home with another prescription and some cough medicine samples to try. I’m hoping for the best 🙂

Dylan is doing great, and his appetite has returned. I had hoped to have a birthday party for him this weekend, but I think we had better wait another week just to make sure that everyone is finally well. I think I’m going to call it an early night, and hope for a little sleep this evening.
