The Artist at Work

Thade (the lucky boy) had received spending money from his Grandma, and he new exactly what he wanted to buy. He wanted Art Supplies and Cocoa Krispies Cereal Straws ๐Ÿ˜‰ I was thrilled when he ran up and down the aisles grabbing paints and markers, and he couldn’t wait to get home and get to work.

Thade waited until Dylan was taking a nap, so Mommy could help out a little too. He had the best time creating beautiful works of art, and I’m proudly displaying them on the fridge.

When it was Thade’s bedtime he asked if we could paint again tomorrow… I said absolutely!

Mother’s Day Trip to Walgreens

Today the boy’s and I ran the usual Monday errands… We made a trip to visit hubby at work, then to Dollar General, quick stop off at Walgreens, and Wal-Mart in the afternoon. When we were at Walgreens, Thade noticed all of the Mother’s Day presents and displays, and quickly asked what Mother’s Day was. I tried to explain that it was a holiday just for Mommies. He then asked if you got presents on Mother’s Day, and I said sometimes. Thade said “nope, you only get presents at Christmas” ๐Ÿ™‚ I had to smile at that one.

Do you have big Mother’s Day plans or any gifts on your wish list?

The Oatmeal Drum

I made a double batch of No-Bake Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies yesterday, and I had an empty container for Thade. He quickly turned the Oatmeal Container into a drum, and played lovely songs all afternoon.

At breakfast this morning Thade and I made up a song about everything that we had to do today so we could have fun out of town tomorrow. Thade also made up a song about Dylan liking bagels.

I don’t think Dylan was the biggest fan of our singing, but Thade had a great time with his new “drum” ๐Ÿ™‚

Busy Days, Sleepless Nights

It all started last weekend, I couldn’t sleep Saturday night, and this trend has continued through today. Last night I was up at 3:00 a.m., half tempted to just get up, but decided to try to go back to sleep. I was up past 5:00 a.m., and I finally got a little rest. Dylan was up before 7:00 a.m., but Thade is still snoozing.

Yesterday we went to purchase a T-Ball Glove for Thade, our local Wal-Mart hadย  completely sold out, so we had to shop out of town. With the gas prices at $3.59, I wasn’t looking forward to the trip. I made the most of it though, and stopped off at Aldi to stockpile the pantry, and I picked up Arby’s for lunch. I even treated myself to a Grande Cafe Vanilla Frappuccinoย  at Starbucks ๐Ÿ™‚ My frugal mind said no do not buy the $4.02 coffee, but Nico’s love of Starbucks took over and I enjoyed every delicious sip of my coffee. All in all it was a fun trip, but a bit pricey in the old gas tank…

We had Thade’s first T-Ball practice last night, and he could not wait to go. Both boy’s were up before 7:00 a.m. yesterday morning, and all day Thade asked when T-ball practice was, I kept telling him it was at 7:15 p.m. Mr. 20 Questions (Thade’s new nickname) continued asking all day, by 6:00 p.m., he couldn’t wait to go, so Dad took him outside to practice catching in the back-yard.

When 7:15 p.m. finally made it Thade was happy/grumpy/anxious/exhausted. He finally got to go and play, but after the 12 hour wait, it took him a little bit of time to get used to the Baseball environment and the new team. He loved the baseball field though, and running the bases too. I got a little nervous when he got to Bat first, this was Thade’s first time even holding a Bat. He did well, and hit the ball right off of the Tee ๐Ÿ™‚

His coach is really nice, and the team looks great ๐Ÿ™‚ I think that it is going to be a fun T-Ball season, and games start very soon. I think the kiddos have one more practice, and then the games begin. I’m bringing snacks and drinks to the first game, so I should probably find out just when that game is happening ๐Ÿ˜‰

Today I’ll be catching up around the house, and making a few phone calls. I’ve been trying to get a hold of the Lawnmower repair guy for about 5 days now. Our mower is in the shop, and this dude is not returning my calls… Grrr! The lawn is in desperate need of a mow, so I’m hoping to hear from him today.

I hope that your morning is going well, and that your day isn’t too busy ๐Ÿ™‚

Looking Ahead to the Weekend

I was up bright and early this morning, and my head was filled with all of the to do items for the weekend. A few of them might be postponed for a bit, the weather is supposed to be a bit touchy today. They are calling for thunderstorms this morning, and we are still under a flash flood watch, so we’ll have to run the errands this afternoon.

I finally heard from Thade’s new T-Ball coach last night, and it turns out that the coach is our neighbor’s nephew. Small World… Thade is so excited about the upcoming T-Ball season, andย  practice starts next Tuesday. We need to get him a Baseball Glove and a pair of Cleats this weekend.

I’m still Spring Cleaning around the house, and today I’ll be cleaning both bathrooms. That is one chore I’m not looking forward too, but it must be done ๐Ÿ˜‰ I started cleaning in the boy’s room last night, and I finally organized Thade and Dylan’s t.v. stand. Small task accomplished, but surprisingly it took nearly 20 minutes to accomplish. Nico must learn to clean faster ๐Ÿ˜‰

How is your weekend looking? Do you have any big plans, or are you relaxing at home?
