Butterfly Rescue

We were grocery shopping this morning, and on our way back to the car Thade spotted a butterfly in the parking lot. It had a broken leg, and was unable to fly. It was already getting really hot out, and I couldn’t let the butterfly lay on the hot asphalt, so we picked it up and carried it off to the car. Thade held onto the injured butterfly, and I found a little lid to give the butterfly a drink of Dylan’s Apple Juice.

The butterfly perked up after the sweet drink, and batted its wings. When we got home Thade carried the butterfly to a nice spot in the yard. I hope the butterfly is happy at its new home, I know Thade is happy to have the guest.

June is One Busy Month

This month quickly became the month of way too much to do with one stressed out Mommy trying to make sure everyone is at the right place at the right time.

I tried to simplify all of Thade’s activities by using stickers. He can look at the calendar and see if there is just one sticker, only one event for the day, most days there are two to three stickers ; ) I also plan my errands for the time that Thade is at an activity. I can get those little errands finished quickly with a limited amount of time

In the next week Thade starts Craft Camp which is daily, he is also still going to Day Camp (3 days) and T-Ball too. It is going to be one busy week, and I’m already looking forward to July… So far we have nothing planned for the entire month : )

Mommy Day Camp, One More Time

Yesterday morning Day Camp was canceled due to a fallen tree, and I was determined to turn the morning around for Thade. I told him to get up and off the couch, At Home Mommy Day Camp was a back in session 🙂

I thought it would be fun to make handmade beads, and learn a little about making secondary colors too. I asked Thade to wait in the other room while I set up the camp. I got out Play Doh, Waxed Paper, a Sharpie, one Paper Plate, and one Toothpick. I then spread out the waxed paper on the table and made color equations with the Play Doh and Sharpie (red+blue=Purple). I then let Thade squish away at the Play Doh and make the new color creations.

When he was all finished we rolled the Play Doh into pretty beads that we can string together for a bracelet or necklace. Thade loved this craft, and he had a blast watching the Play Doh blend into a brand new color.

Day Camp a No Go

It has been quite a morning already… I got Thade up early and ready to go to camp, he was all smiles, and he couldn’t wait to go and play. I was talking on the phone to my hubby, and we were going to meet for breakfast. I hung up the phone, and it rang back immediately. I thought maybe he forgot to tell me something, but it wasn’t him, it was a really nice lady calling to tell me that the camp was cancelled and the park was closed for the day. There was a large tree that had fallen in the road and the entire park had to be shut down so they could clean up the fallen tree. She said that they hope to have the park ready for Friday’s camp.

Cue the giant tears running down Thade’s cheeks, and Mommy trying to explain why the camp was closed for today, but not to worry we can do lots of other fun things today… Thade wasn’t a happy camper this morning. He still has T-Ball this evening, as long as there isn’t a bad storm that rolls through. Let’s all hope that the weather holds out, or I am going to have one grumpy little guy today…
