Miss Mia

Miss Mia passed away last night. The venom from the sting was just too powerful for our little chihuahua. James and I were with her when she passed away, and it was truly heartbreaking.

She was our mighty little guard dog, who believed that she was larger than the giant great danes up the street.

She was my little kitchen buddy that loved to keep me company whenever I was making a favorite dish of hers.

She was the kid’s very best friend. She could spend endless time playing fetch, and loved to be right there with the kids any time they ventured out into the backyard.

We loved that little dog so very much. Today we are all heart-broken as we said good-bye to her one last time. Our house is too quiet… We miss her greatly… This hurts.

Please Send Puppy Prayers

The last 24 hours have been pretty rough for this little pup. Last night she was out playing, and dug up a large hibernating bumblebee. She was stung several times, and went into anaphylactic shock. It was brutal. We were fearful that she wouldn’t make it through the night, but she pulled through.

Today she is trying her hardest to hang on. We are keeping her warm, hydrated, and comfortable. We are hoping that she is through the worst of it, but we just don’t know yet.

Please send some prayers for our Mia-pup and the kids too. Agnes is really sad, and they boys are really worried. We are hoping for the best right now.

Sick Days

Sorry for the time away… We have been sick, really, really, really sick for about the last two weeks. We had another round of influenza hit the house, and it took us out one by one.

Finally today the kids are feeling back to normal, and their appetites are back. My voice is still gone, but I think it is just due to allergies. I finally feel like I have a bit of energy back.

Spring Break begins today, so we are going to take the next week to get all the way better. I just hope to get the laundry caught back up.

Loki

Our oldest friend, and sweetest cat buddy passed away last night. Our hearts are heavy, but we were blessed with an amazing sixteen years with the big guy.

We all loved you so much big guy…

We will miss you always.

Rest in peace Loki cat.

New Light

Last week we had several bad storms… We lost our favorite tree to one of them.

The City visited us after the storm, and inspected the tree. It didn’t look so good.

I was sad to see the tree go, but thankful that everybody was safe.

They closed off the road, and brought down the biggest parts of the tree. They completely covered the road.

Agnes was so sad. We were unable to dig up the flowers planted around the tree. She loved the tree.

The City finished cleaning up the site, and they did a great job too.

The yard looked so different with the tree gone.

The yard looks much bigger too.

The new natural light in the foyer is really lovely. Agnes’ room has pretty new natural light too. I still miss the tree when I look out the window, it has been a lovely green sight for the last eight years.
