Garden Visitors

Over the weekend we were doing a few projects around the house. Agnes ran into the dining-room screaming that there was the cutest bunny outside.

She wanted to run outside and hug that little wild rabbit, but I said that bunnies are shy, and we should just watch from the front door. She and Dylan kept an eye on the bunny for almost an hour. It had found a shady clover patch to rest. It really was adorable, or adorably adorable as Agnes would say.

This little grasshopper paid me a visit in the kitchen. I think he was in need of a break from the Kansas heat. He was pretty cute too. Agnes did not think that the grasshopper was adorably adorable though.

Visiting Redbud

Friday we were up early, and on the way to run a few places. A local feed store was selling chickens, geese, and ducklings. I took the kids over to check them out. They were really cute, but we didn’t come home with any.

We had one more stop to make, and we headed out towards Redbud Nurseries. I was looking for a few plants for the indoors, and the outdoors too.

I absolutely love Redbud Nurseries. The kids were happy to visit there too.

Dylan loved the shaded hillside filled with large ferns, and shady plants. Agnes enjoyed the greenhouses filled with petunias and butterflies to chase.

Thade spotted a plant that he absolutely loved.

While we were running around Redbud, Thade was busy taking pictures. He took some pretty fantastic photos too.

This photo was my very favorite…

I think we’ve got a budding photographer on our hands. I’ll be handing over the camera over to him whenever we are out and about.

We filled up a wagon full of flowers and plants. While we were checking out, the kids got to pick out ice-pops to cool off. They were thrilled.

I had filled a few pots with new plants for the backyard. We had to move them to the front porch last night. Miss Mia thought they were a cool pup-bed for her…

I hope the little Amethyst plants can bounce back after the puppy squishing.

We started a little rock garden in the front yard with pretty blooms for the butterflies. We also have a few new houseplants to tend too.

I just need to get a few photos of them…

Earth Day Pics

We spent a lot of time outdoors. We had a perfect Spring day, with temps in the 70’s. It was cool enough, but warm too. I love Spring weather!

I took along my camera and got some photos of the kiddos and pup too.

Thade eventually ventured outside with us. I think he was enjoying the quiet of the great indoors.

Everything is finally starting to turn Green!

The plants are making a return too.

The lilies made it through the crazy cold Winter.

The Lilac bush is in full bloom too. The scent is amazing!

Miss Mia came by to say hi. She was busy playing fetch with the kids.

It was a lovely day to be outside! I hope we have many more Spring days just like this one.

Happy Earth Day

Happy Earth Day! And if you are a certain super cute four year old, then you’ll say “Happy Earf Day!”

The weather is lovely today. I think it will be a nice day to tend to our little corner of earth. The boys are planning to pick-up the front yard after school is out. I might sneak out to the backyard and work on the flower beds.

Our little sprouts are growing. I can’t wait for Summertime veggies, and flowers too.

Have a beautiful Earth Day!

Just A Start

There is a lot of green popping up around our house this Spring.

Last year’s plants are still going strong.

We started lots of little seeds.

For this year’s garden, I’m trying to grow more plants from seed.

The little seedlings are growing fast. I think it is time to move the green beans outdoors.

Agnes planted the Zinnia’s, she was so excited to see the sprouts.

I have some Roma Tomato starts. I hope I’ll get to make homemade salsa out of them this Summer.
