My Tropics

When we visited Hawaii, I fell in love with Hibiscus, Lillies, and tropical views. Those pretty sights became the motivation to bring a little Tropical beauty to our neck of the woods.

We have one little Caladium, Dylan loves it’s large green leaves.

0032

Love the Yellow Lillies, we also have 2 Red Lillies planted too.

0021

I talked James into the Hibiscus bush. I just love those pretty tropical blooms.

0071

I can’t plant enough Hosta,

0081

they grow well in the backyard,

009

and this one is ready to bloom.

011

Now I just need a Mai-tai, and my backyard oasis will be complete.

Seeing Red

The pretty plants that we planted on May day are in full bloom, and the garden is bursting with the color Red.

0111

The Red Hibiscus bush has new red blooms everyday.

0052

The red Gerbera Daisy is in full bloom too.

Finally this week the Red Lillies bloomed, and they are gorgeous.

0023

Love the multiple red blooms on this Lily.

0053

I also adore the star-shaped dark red bloom on this little Lily.

Tiny Garden Life

The garden is finally starting to sprout, and I heard from the kiddos that they have  found a toad in the backyard. I hope he sticks around and helps out by keeping those icky bugs away from our little plants.

042

I just love the teeny-tiny broccoli. I’m trying so hard to not pick it, and see what it tastes like. Must resist!

035

The tiny Petunias are so sweet, and the bees have been buzzing all around them.

014

So far we have only had one single okra seed sprout, I really hope we see more soon.

017

The tiny cauliflower have such pretty green leaves.

023

I love these little bitty yellow blooms, such a cheery addition to the garden.

Farmer Dylan is Happy

I know I’ve mentioned this a few times before, but I’ll say it one more time, Dylan loves to garden. I even like to call him Farmer Dylan because that kiddo loves it so stinking much. Today he is a happy camper.

0052

A friend of ours has been helping out with the North Garden. He tills, I bake him cookies. This morning he stopped by one more time to till the North lot and this afternoon Dylan and I planted all of the rest of the seeds that we had on hand.

0051

We planted Corn, Green Beans, Watermelon, Acorn Squash, Okra, and Carrots. I can’t wait to see those little baby veggie plants popping up all over the place.

In The Garden

The weather is finally starting to improve, and we visited a lot of the local garden shops today. So we’ll be in the garden working non-stop for the next few days, but it is going to look awesome when we get all of these plants in the ground.
