So far the backyard garden is looking a little green… I’m ready to see some pretty Spring color.

Maybe they will bloom this weekend…
Last week I was working on cleaning out the Hosta beds, and getting the rest of the leaves out of the North garden. It looks like it is going to rain all this week, so I probably won’t be getting anything done outside… I do have a few plants that are growing though.

Thade planted the Snow Peas seeds this year. We have several plants growing. We harvested some pods that went to seed last year, and planted them this season. They took off, and are doing well.

Last year’s Raspberry start is doing well too. I just might get a few raspberries this time around.

Last year’s Strawberry plants loved the mild Winter, and have taken off this Spring. The plants are growing tall.

I’ve only found a few berries, and the robins have been getting to them first. Oh well, I hope the birds enjoy the sweet treat. They had better help out with the mosquitoes and grasshoppers since I feed them fresh strawberries.

I am happy to report that most of the perennial plants have made a return this Spring.

The Strawberry plants enjoyed the mild Winter, and I’ve spotted lots of little berries. I hope to pick them before the birds get to them.

I added a new Blueberry bush start to the garden, and there are already a few little blossoms.

The Raspberry bush that I planted last year is doing well too. I’ve spotted a few tiny raspberries.

Most of the Hosta have sprouted too.

I just love their cool, green leaves.

I hope to add in a few more Hosta plants this year. We have a lot of shade in our backyard, and the Hosta love the shade. They are also pretty easy to care for, and the kids like watering them too.

Two of my Lily plants have made a return. I spotted this little Mayfly taking a rest on one of them. I love the mayfly’s icy wings.
The happiest plant is the Hibiscus.

My husband took it to his work during the Winter, and it was an early bloomer this Spring. There have been several bright red blooms already. I love the Hibiscus, it is one of my favorites in the garden.
During Spring Break we had almost a solid week of rain… All of that rain left behind some beautiful blooms.

This time of year is absolutely beautiful!
With Spring just a day away, the flowers are popping up everywhere.

I spotted these cuties while I was out shopping.

I think these would make a great addition to our yard.

They also had teeny-tiny tulips that were too cute.
We have had several flowers bloom at our house this year too…

We had a few Daffodils bloom early, they look like they are about done for the season.

We also have two little batches of Wild Daffodils that pop up in the front yard. These are bright yellow with tiny blooms.

My favorite ones are the tiny Wild White Daffodils. There are just a few of them, but they are so pretty.
I am so ready for Spring. How about you?
