Saying Good-bye

009

Yesterday we ventured back to our former hometown to say our final good-bye to a dear friend that had passed away. My heart is still aching, and the tears are still falling. We will miss him greatly…

Grocery Shopping x 3

To be perfectly honest, I really don’t like grocery shopping. I get grumpy with our local shops, and the prices, and the fact that whenever I take all 3 of my kiddos someone has to stop and say “wow, you’ve really got your hands full”. Grumpiness aside, the shopping must be done, and usually it’s a weekly event.

We needed a day away, let me rephrase that, I needed a day away, so I decided to take the kiddos grocery shopping a town away.  Oddly enough the trip was actually fun. The prices were better, the shelves were well stocked, and they had the raddest shopping carts ever! Also, not one single person stopped me mid-shopping trip and said the dreaded phrase.

The kids were really good too. The boys loved riding in the shopping cart, and Agnes stayed happy, because she had the guys to entertain her. It was strange leaving the store with everything on my list, and no giant headache.

When it was all said and done, Dylan was sad to leave the shopping cart. I asked him why he was so sad, he said “Mama, that shopping cart is going to miss us.” Looks like I found a better way to get the grocery shopping task done.

Music Camp

0141

Thade has been a busy little guy.

Last weekend he attended a music camp for the day, and had a blast. He learned so much, and we had fun seeing the sights around campus too.

Dylan and Agnes were happy to tag along too.

Full Friday

I know it’s Thursday, but I’m actually looking forward to Friday. There is an elementary planning day tomorrow, and I’ll have all of my kiddos home, and we’ve got a busy day planned.

My guys will be up early anyway, so I’m planning on taking them to the Donut shop for donuts and chocolate milk, while Agnes is napping we are going to vote for the nickelodeon kid’s choice awards, Thade can’t wait. I’m thinking about taking the kiddos to the Lenten Fish Fry that is just down the street for lunch tomorrow, I thought that might be a cool outing. We are also visiting the Library, I’ve been here 6 years, and I’m just now getting around to finally getting a library card (bad nico).

Thade is really busy reading so many books for Ready Set Read, and I thought that hitting up the library will get him to his goal of 100 books. He just completed his 60th book, and his original goal was 50. I’m so proud of my big kid!

If the weather (and Agnes) are cooperating, we might go and tour the Fort. The weather is supposed to be in the 70’s tomorrow, and an afternoon out and about downtown might be fun.

So what about you? Do you have any big plans for a fun Friday, or for fun-filled weekend?

The Dream House

Everyday we watch House Hunters on HGTV, and we play a little guessing game as to which house the buyer will get. Dylan has been winning at this game lately. I love the show though, and it keeps me adding to my list of dream house wishes…

We hope to move one day… I have this random dream house in my mind. I would love off-street parking, 4-5 bedrooms, a finished basement, and a large kitchen that opens into a family room. Having enough space for the kids to each have their own bedroom, and an office for James. I would love a crafty-attic-type space, and a teeny-tiny yard (I hate to mow). A bigger city would be fantastic too.

Maybe one of these days… So what about you, what’s on your dream house list?
