Yard Sale Finds

It has been a long time since I’ve done one of these posts. Sadly I haven’t been hitting up the yard sales or thrift stores. On Mother’s Day weekend it was the City Wide Yard  Sale. I had cleaned out and boxed up a lot of stuff just in case we had one. We decided to shop this  year, and have a sale at a later date. I was happy we went shopping.

I found some cute shirts for Agnes.

I found some more dishes that needed to come home with me. I also found two hand-stitched pillow cases for just $.25. I am going to hang on the them, and use them for Agnes when she has a big girl bed.

I found a few purses, and James found some cool finds too. The boys were excited when they got a great deal on some NERF guns.

The craziest buy of the day was a freebie!

We were visiting a sale when James spotted a set of encyclopedias. The gentleman hosting the sale asked James if he liked them. James said sure, you never see encyclopedia sets anymore. So the gentleman said you can have them. James, asked the price, and again he said you can have them. We were really surprised when he said they were free. It is a full set, and so very cool. He was really nice too, he even helped us out to the mini-van with the new books. The kids were so excited too.

The sales were a lot of fun this year. I love all of our new to us finds.

Outdoorsland

The weather has been amazing, and we have been out in the back-yard every chance we get. The kids run around and play, and the pup does too. I’ve been busy cleaning, planting, and re-mulching. The yard is looking pretty good.

The lilies are in bloom, and they are so pretty.

I harvested a few Snow Peas from the garden too.

I’m ready for Summer to get here, but I’ll take as many of these cool Spring mornings as I can.

May Has Been A Blur…

May has been a month that has been difficult to keep up with.

There has been something on the calendar every single day, and I’m ready for the lazy days of Summer… This is the last week of school, and I’m really excited about it. It will be great having the kids home, and less school activities to do too. Well, a little less, there is always housework that needs done around here.

Chores

It isn’t even Summer yet and the boys are already bored. To help keep them busy, we are instituting a chore chart. They are earning stickers, and once they complete 30 chores, they earn a little money.

I hope that it will teach the boys responsibility, and that they will value their allowance a bit more too. It is also nice having a little extra help around the house. Agnes might need a sticker chart too, she loves to help out wherever she can.
