I love cookies

Today I decided to work on a few new cookie recipes, and they turned out pretty good. I made about 5 dozen so we should have snacks for quite a while. I made french vanilla white chocolate chip, white chocolate cherry, and white chocolate macadamia nut. I liked the white chocolate cherry ones the best. I’m taking a dozen to our neighbor, and I took a dozen to my husband’s workplace.

I also got out of the house with my darling sister in law Jill to go paint shopping. She just bought a new house, and she is busy decorating. She is painting all this weekend, she is a super busy girl. We had a great time shopping. Her next stop is Target for decorative items for the house. I wish I could go on that trip, Target is one of my favorite stores.

Spring Headaches

This morning I woke up with such a headache, it must be the weather, or the super high pollen count. Hopefully my meds will kick in soon and I’ll feel up to getting a few things done around the house. James is off work for the next three days, so I hope we’ll be painting a little too… Here is what I am hoping to get done today:

*Wash 3 loads of laundry
*Put away 6 loads of laundry
*Wash and put away dishes
*Clean up the backyard
*Finish painting the bottom half of the dining room
*Finish painting the upstairs hallway

Shopping was on the list, but I got that done yesterday. This weekend there is also a little festival downtown, so we’ll probably take the kids if the weather is nice.

To Do List Today

I’m a little late posting my to do list for today, we have had a busy day already:

*Visit hubby at work, and take him breakfast
*Wash 2 loads of laundry
*Wash and put away dishes
*Put away 3 loads of laundry
*Clean out the fridge and freezer
*Clean litter box
*Fill dog’s auto-feeder
*Go shopping for groceries
*Give Thade a haircut

So much to do and so little time to do it all. Better get back to it while the little one is taking a much needed nap!

Cleaning Schedule

For the past few days I have been working on a homemaker’s journal. A close friend “M” told me about hers and I thought it sounded like a great idea. Mine so far has a list of my monthly menus, shopping lists with coupons, B-B-Q list for the 4Th of July, and a cleaning schedule. I’m a little stuck on the cleaning schedule… If you have any ideas, please feel free to leave me a comment. Here is the list of areas that I clean:

Utility room/downstairs bathroom- Day to clean:1,14,26
Kitchen- Day to clean:2,15,27
Dining Room – Day to clean:3,16
Living Room- Day to clean:4,17,28
Foyer – Day to clean:5,18
Stairway- Day to clean:6,19
Upstairs Hallway/ Stockpile Closet- Day to clean:7,20
Hubby’s Office/Closet – Day to clean:8,21
Upstairs Bathroom/Closet- Day to clean:9,22,29
Master Bedroom/Closet -Day to clean:10,23
Boy’s Room/Closet – Day to clean:11,24,30

I have assigned each area a day of the month that I can clean, along with my everyday picking up. I’m open to suggestions to make the job easier. I hope that this helps me out with the cleaning around here. I need all the help that I can get…

More Painting finished

Yesterday my mom visited, and watched the boys for me. I got some projects done around the house. I got the first coat of paint on the dining room walls under the chair rail, and part of the upstairs hallway painted too. Both of the projects are looking good, but I’m so sore today from all of that painting.
