Planning for Next Weekend

This weekend was supposed to be Thade’s First Soccer game, and a Birthday Party for Dylan, but the flu has halted all of those plans. I have to call the Coach today, and let him know that we won’t make it tomorrow, Thade’s cough is just horrible. We’ll have a little family dinner on Sunday for Easter, and tomorrow night the boy’s will dye Easter Eggs with Dad. I know they will have a blast doing that.

As for the party, it will have to wait until next weekend. I was thinking about having a little BBQ and inviting everybody to the Soccer Game too. I doubt I even get invitations in the mail, thank goodness for cell phones and e-mail. Now I really sound like a lousy and completely unprepared Mom : ( I’m still feeling so icky, and it is hard to get up the energy to get everything planned and cleaned up to have guests.

I hope that everybody has a great weekend, and a very Happy Easter too!

Got to the Store Today

I finally got up enough energy and made it to the grocery store today. It was one of those have to make it trips or otherwise I would have stayed home today. The weather is so pretty, and I still feel so crappy. We are stocked up for the weekend, and I even bought a few supplies to make a Coconut Cake for Easter.

The Teething Tyrant is back to add to the grumpiness. Little Dylan was up last night from Midnight-5:30 a.m., so no sleep for Nico. Thade is doing better on his new medication, so he is resting better at night, the coughs return in the morning though. I hope that both kids get over the flu fast, they are just miserable.

I’m off to go and get the vaporizers going for the evening and get the Vicks Vapo-rub on the kiddos for bedtime. I hope to get a little more sleep tonight, I’m just exhausted.

Urgent Care, My Second Home

Well this morning James and I were feeling much better. He still has the cough, and I still have the nausea, but we were both finally a little better. Dylan took an extra long nap this afternoon, and I got a few chores finished around the house. Thade was still coughing and miserable, and was resting on the big comfy chair. I decided to take a nap and rest while I could.

At 3:00 p.m. James was very worried that Thade was still snoozing, and we checked him for a fever. It was 101, so we thought it would be best to pay one more visit to Urgent Care and get him checked out. There has been a lot of RSV and Pneumonia in the area, and we thought better safe than sorry. It took a little convincing, but Thade was pretty happy to go.

James watched Dylan, and Thade and I headed out to Urgent Care. He still had a fever, and the Doctor said that it might just be a really bad case of the flu, but to keep an eye on the cough. If the cough gets worse he will be put on a Nebulizer and sent in for a chest x-ray.  Let’s all hope that the cough gets better, tonight we were sent home with another prescription and some cough medicine samples to try. I’m hoping for the best 🙂

Dylan is doing great, and his appetite has returned. I had hoped to have a birthday party for him this weekend, but I think we had better wait another week just to make sure that everyone is finally well. I think I’m going to call it an early night, and hope for a little sleep this evening.

Back to the Routine

Well I’m not 100% just yet, but I don’t think that the laundry can wait too much longer. Tomorrow I’ve got to get back to the daily routine, and get the house back in order.

We are all still under the weather, but James and I are making a steady recovery. The kiddos are fine one minute, and miserable the next, both still have awful coughs. Thade is hopefully getting a full night’s sleep tonight, and Dylan is cuddled up with Daddy at the moment. James and I are hoping for a nice night of sleep too, no one has been sleeping well since last Wednesday. The coughs and tummy aches seem to hit in the evening…

Thanks again to everyone for all of the well wishes and prayers for the family. Big hugs to all of you, and I hope that everyone is doing well 🙂

Almost Back…

Thanks to everyone for all of the well wishes. This has been one awful case of the flu…

Friday my Mom came up to help out, I was not well at all. By afternoon James had to take Dylan and myself out to Urgent Care at the hospital. Dylan had a nasty cough, and I was freezing and very sick. I had a few tests run, and it was the flu. James and I were prescribed medication, and the little guys could have Baby Tylenol. By the time that we made it home Thade had come down with the flu, and he was miserable.

By Saturday morning James had the flu too, and we were all still miserable. Nana stayed and helped out with everything. I really appreciated all of her help, and I hope she doesn’t catch this awful flu. I owe her big time for all of the help this weekend.

I hope to be back up and going soon. I have lots of blogs to catch up with too. Thanks again everybody for the warm wishes. Big hugs to all!
