Our Day Trip To K.C.

Saturday we made the drive up to Kansas City, and the day was filled with fun and craziness. Both boys were so excited to see their Uncle Rob, and Nana and I were pretty excited too.

We met up at Rob’s apartment, and then we planned the day from there. Rob took us by where he works, and it was amazing. He is right by Union Station, and I couldn’t believe the view.

Rob works in the art district, and it is so beautiful there. I’m a little jealous of his amazing drive to work. He drives past historical sites, art museums, and amazing skyscrapers. I love architecture and I hope one day to end up in a big city with a view like the pictures above.

We then headed over to Minsky’s on the River Market for some tasty Kansas City Pizza, and it was so delicious. We also got to check out the Open Air Farmer’s Market too, it was amazing. I spotted way too many awesome deals on fruits and veggies. I’d shop there weekly if I could.

We had a little detour though… After lunch and checking out the sites my car started acting up. Luckily Rob was driving and headed us over to Firestone, were we got to hang out for about an hour and a half while my car got some diagnostic work done 😉

Even though we spent the afternoon at Firestone, we all had a fun time just hanging out. Thade was getting a little stir crazy though 😉 There turned out to be nothing wrong with my car, thank goodness. I might have a sensor going out. The car was safe to drive and we were ready to get back on the road.

We took the kiddos and Nana back to Rob’s. Dylan was ready to eat and take a nap, and Thade was ready to chill out on the couch for a bit. Rob drove me to the Plaza so I could pick up a present for James. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Plaza, it is truly awesome. There are endless places to eat and shop, and you can people watch all day. The architecture is incredible, and every where you look is a lovely fountain or a beautiful statue. I’m so ready to move to K.C. now 😉

Rob said he would buy coffee, and you know I can’t say no to an iced coffee. He introduced me to Latte Land, and I’m a huge fan now! I had a Vanilla Bliss Blended Coffee, and I have to say it was even tastier than my beloved Starbucks Frappuccino. Just one more reason I’m ready to move to K.C.

We all had such a great time, and thanks again to Rob for having us up to visit. I can’t wait to go and visit again 🙂

Mother’s Day Recap

This Mother’s Day was so much fun! I got to spend lots of time with my sweet family, and get tons of hugs too. I had planned a “Thanks for Moms” party to say thank you to the Grandma’s for all that they have done for us, and Nana and Grandma were thrilled to get some extra time with the kiddos

We all sat together for a big meal at the dining room table. The boy’s picked out gifts for Nana and Grandma and I made the tags.

I even received a few cool gifts too. My awesome Sister (in law) gave me a gift card to a Day Spa. I can’t wait to go and be pampered, I’m thinking manicure. My Mother-in-law gave me a beautiful card, and some Starbucks funds. My Mom gave me beautiful Gerber Daisies, and stocked me up on all of the paper goods that I needed to shop for this week 😉 She must have known that Thade is using about 5 boxes of Kleenexes a week 😉

It was such a fun day, I really appreciate everybody driving up to visit and celebrate with us. It was a beautiful Mother’s Day, and I can’t wait for the next get together : )

All I can say is WOW :)

My hubby took Thade out this afternoon to pick up my Mother’s Day gift. Thade has been looking forward to the outing with Dad, and had already told me about 50 times what I was getting . So much for the secret shopping trip 😉 I stayed home with Dylan while the boys made a run to Walgreens. When Thade came home, he ran to the door, with the biggest smile, and proudly got out all of the presents. He got me Kinoki, and Starbucks Caffe Mocha Truffles. I was so happy with the sweet gifts from my boys 🙂

James mentioned that Thade wanted to go to Sonic for a drink, I thought cool, we’ll wait until 2:00 p.m., and get the half-off happy hour drinks. James watched Dylan and Thade and I headed off to Sonic. When I came home James and Dylan were waiting at the door. Dylan was waving, and James had a huge smile on his face. We went inside and James said to put the drinks down, he had a surprise for me, and it was in the dining room.

I had no idea what was going to happen next… He said that he had my actual Mother’s Day gift waiting for me, and I was a bit puzzled. I walked into the dining room and looked on the table, and there I saw a brand new laptop. I burst into tears, it is just too amazing. I still can’t believe that he got me a new laptop, I’ve been babying mine along for over a year 😉 It is just the most incredible gift.

I am so thankful for my amazing hubby, and my precious boys. They make everyday so special, and they really surprised me this Mother’s Day.

A Little Reminder

We visited the Post Office today. I needed to mail a package and buy some stamps. At checkout I was reminded that the price of stamps is going up on Monday. I went on ahead and purchased the $.42 cent stamps, and called it good.

This weekend is also the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. We went through the pantry and found a few items to donate, Thade had fun helping out too.

Don’t forget to pick up those One Cent Stamps this weekend 😉

Pics from the Trip To Nana’s

Last weekend we visited my Mom, and we had a blast. Thade enjoyed eating lunch at Cici’s Pizza, he cleared three plates. I’ve never seen him eat so much, it was pretty tasty though 🙂 I’m glad that he had extra energy for the day, we were going to be taking a little hike at a local park.

Nana wanted to visit Wildcat Glades, it is one of her favorite places. It is a beautiful park, with lots of trails, and it was free to visit too!

The Wildcat Glades Visitor center is a beautiful Eco-friendly facility, that uses Geothermal heating, promotes recycling, and also has a green roof filled with pretty plants. When we made our way indoors we found terrariums and aquariums with local fish, lizards, and turtles too.

There are many hands on activities for kids. Thade loved all of the giant animals to crawl around on.

The trails and scenery are beautiful and a few of the Dog Wood Trees were still in bloom. The weather was perfect for a nice walk.

Thade had fun throwing rocks into the creek with Nana, but Dylan thought it was a little too bright to be outdoors 😉

My favorite parts of the park were the beautiful purple wild flowers that blossomed everywhere. I also loved the giant rock in the middle of the creek, it was huge. The Spring was beautiful as well.

We will have to visit the Wildcat Glades again soon! Thade has been talking non-stop about just how much fun the trip was. We all had a great day at the park 🙂
