The last few days have been so busy, I don’t even know where to begin…
Thursday was the last day of school for the week, and thank goodness it was, we had a lot to do. Friday was the MOPS Swap, and the kiddos couldn’t wait to go and see their friends. It was fun for me too, and I came home with lots of goodies. I picked up several items for the kitchen, a pink bouncy chair, clothes for Thade, and it was all free. Yep the MOPS swap rocked.
I also spent Friday calling parents to help with the Halloween party for next Friday. I am the head room Mom/coordinator for Thade’s class, and I was on the phone all day looking for helpers. I was happy that I had plenty of volunteers that will be at the party, and I’ll be calling everyone tomorrow with the supply list. Friday we started the massive shopping/stock-piling of the house. James was there to help me out, and we finished almost all of the errands.
Today I finished up the shopping errands with the kiddos, and kept really busy all day. There was cleaning, cooking, and more phone calls to be made. Tonight it is hair-cuts for the kiddos, and getting the suitcases packed too.
Tomorrow looks like it is going to be a busy day too, hopefully things will calm back down by Monday.

This week marked my last few Doctor’s appointments, and the melancholy sadness has already set in… On Wednesday, I had my final check-up with my primary Doctor, and when I made it home, I was greeted at the door by two little faces. Dylan ran up to me and hugged my leg as tight as he could, and said, “mommy gone”. I picked him up, and hugged him as tight as I could, and told him that “mommy will always come back to Dylan.”

The same carried on for Thade, the next evening. It was bedtime, and stories were being read, and it had been a long day… Neither one of the boy’s would go to sleep, and Thade was sobbing… I went in to sit at his bed-side and see what the tears were about, and he asked me “will I be left by myself?” “Of course not,” I told him… “But what if you don’t come back after surgery?” So I told him, “I have 2 amazing Doctors and one wonderful Nurse and they are all going to take great care of me. Mommy will always come back to Thade, no matter what.” I handed him my teddy bear from when I was a child, and prayed that he would find some comfort…

Even though it will only be for a few days, I will miss them more than they will ever know…

The light was just right this morning to get a few more Autumn pictures.

We visited downtown to see if the leaves had changed.

Dylan and I walked around and enjoyed the warm Fall day.

Finally, some of my favorite Maples are in their full Fall color.

I just love the bright leaves.

Yep, I have to get one of these for our yard.

Dylan and I walked the sidewalk outside the Fort.

There are still a few trees that haven’t changed just yet.

I love the vintage signs downtown, and the brick buildings too.
I hope that you and your family are enjoying Fall too.
With the hospital visit just around the corner, I have got to get the house ready and stocked. I’m planning a few extra shopping trips this weekend to make sure that I have everything on hand for the kiddos and house guests too. I should probably pick up a few extra snacks for my hubby too.
I’m going to shop at Dollar General to stock up on paper goods. You can find a 6 pack of toilet paper for just $1.00, and facial tissues are just $1.00 too. I’m buying extra, and stocking up on paper towels there too.
Yet another trip to Wal-Mart is in order too. I have a lot of items to pick up, meals to buy for and then prepare, and I also need to get Halloween party supplies too. I hope to make it in one big trip, but knowing me, I’ll forget something, and have to make a second trip out. I would like to have the house stocked for at least two weeks, but Thade is eating us out of house and home lately, so if I can get a week stocked, I’ll call it good.
I’m off to make some lists…
