Taking Stock and Making Stock

Today I’m wishing for warmer weather, while my kitty is taking a long Winter’s nap. I’ve been busy getting a jump start on the New Year’s organizing by neatly putting away all of my new kitchen towels. I just love the Coffee Themed Towels 🙂

The kids are having fun playing with their new Cars Tent(Christmas Present from Grandma). I still have no idea where that one is going, it is a little big for the Living Room.

I’ve also been taking stock of what I have in the Fridge, Freezer, and Pantry while working on my January Monthly Menu (coming soon). I finally got around to making some Turkey Stock out of the Christmas Turkey. The stock will come in handy for Soups and Stuffing too.

Just a Few More Cookies

The night before Christmas Thade and I made a few more cookies for Santa, and a few dozen for gifts too. We ended up baking 9 dozen cookies, so we had plenty to snack on for Christmas day. I’ve been keeping track of all the baking that has been going on in the kitchen, and this holiday season I have baked 418 cookies! That is just a little over 34 dozen. It has been so much fun, but I don’t know if I can eat another cookie 🙂 Well maybe just one more 😉

All Baked Out

Well I’m finally all finished, and I am beat. Today I ended up making a little over 17 dozen cookies, 209 total. That brings my holiday cookie baking total up to  280 cookies! Not all of the cookies made it into the pictures though, we had to sample a few of them 😉

A Baker’s Dozen

Cookie Day is finally here! Thade is pretty excited, and me too. I can’t wait to get to baking! Today I’m baking at least 12 dozen cookies, but I’ll probably bake 14-15 dozen so we can have some for weekend snacking. I’ll be baking or no-baking:

  • Coconut Macaroons
  • No Bake Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies (Thade’s favorite)
  • Wedding Cake Cookies
  • Candy Bar Cookies (James favorite)
  • Double Chocolate M&M Cookies (might be Thade’s new favorite)

I’ll be freezing the extra dough (not the macaroons though) and baking again right before Christmas. I think I need another cup of coffee to get me started.

We also have a few chores and errands to do today. So here is what else we have planned for today:

  • Assemble 4 Christmas Cookie Plates to deliver tomorrow
  • Pick-up new Prescription at Dr’s office
  • Go to Walgreens (maybe)
  • Visit Hubby at work (afternoon)
  • Clean the dining room table
  • Empty Upstairs Waste Baskets
  • Empty Downstairs Waste Baskets
  • Take out the trash, and take trash cans to the alley

Yeah I definitely need another cup of coffee, or maybe two 😉
