June’s Tasty Treats

I spent a lot of time in the kitchen during the month of June. I think I was washing more dishes than cooking though… I do have a few photos to share from my kitchen.

We celebrated Donut Day by visiting our local shop. I opted for one Cream Cheese filled and one Old Fashioned. Both were delicious.

I made a bunch of Chocolate Chip Cookies.

I also made lots and lots of Cinnamon Rolls.

I made another batch of Chocolate Mousse, which freezes beautifully into Chocolate Ice Cream.

I’ve been seeing this Soda Cake recipe popping up all over Pinterest, so I gave it a try. This one is a Vanilla Cake mix, with Orange Soda, and Whipped Topping for the icing. I liked it, but the kids wern’t a fan.

It has been a little humid in Kansas, but that makes for beautiful Dinner Rolls.

Lastly,

more Cinnamon Rolls. This batch was proofing, and getting ready to go in the oven.

I’ve been baking a ton already, so many pies, and so many cookies. I’ll have some more pictures to share soon.

Sneak Peek of June’s Veggie Meals

I’m half-way through my sixth month of vegetarianism, and I’m slowly trying to become a vegan. I’ve been cooking lots of tasty meals with plenty of fresh veggies. Here is a little sneak peek of what’s been going on in the kitchen veggie style.

Wheat Pasta with Grape Tomatoes. It was a quick and tasty lunch.

May’s Veggie Meals

I made lots of super tasty veggie dishes in May. I tried out a few new dishes, and I made it another month being a happy vegetarian.

I did some experimental Vegan baking. These were pretty tasty, and made a yummy snack.

Pasta with Okra and Tomatoes. So good!

I made a big batch of homemade Macaroni and Cheese with lots of Broccoli.

Here is a yummy vegan dish, Steak Fries, and Roasted Veggies. I had some Zucchini, Tomatoes, Broccoli, and Roasted Corn in this batch. It was so delicious!

We’ve had a few tasty homegrown Strawberries from the front porch.

This is my homemade Veggie-friendly mock rice-a-roni. Rice and Lentils and one delicious sauteed onion.

More Roasted Veggies, this time Broccoli, Cauliflower, Green Beans, and Chickpeas. Hello to a new favorite dinner of mine!

Lastly I made a big batch of baked pasta.

This is a great dish to make to clean out the pantry, and have lunch ready for a few days too.

I’m sticking with my veggie ways through June. I hope to try out a few new dishes too.
