Maybe we should buy a boat

We got out yesterday and checked out the flood waters. The rain has stopped for today, but there is still a chance for more rain in the next two days. We had severe flooding through out the town, and many of the roads and bridges were completely flooded.

We are all fine here, and I’m just hoping for no more rain anytime soon.

Kool-Aid Stand

We were back to the store today, I had to run out and get a belated birthday present for my mom, and some snacks for James. On the way home we saw a Kool-Aid stand, and I had to stop. I remember having a Kool-Aid stand when I was younger, and hoping for business. I pulled over and ordered 2 Kool-Aids one for me and one for Thade. The little boy that was running the stand had the biggest smile on his face, and Thade was pretty happy too.

I hope that everybody takes the time to support your local Kool-Aid stand.

Didn’t go shopping

Well I missed the sale at Walgreens this week. Funny how at the beginning of the week there seems to be all of this time to get to the store, and then poof its Saturday at 10:00 p.m., and no time to get to the store. They were having a pretty good sale on diapers, which is always a much needed item around the house. I’ll have to check the sale ad tomorrow and see what next weeks specials are.

Our Walgreens is getting closer to being completed. I know that once the store opens it will be much easier to shop there. Right now I have to drive about 20 minutes away, and with Dylan nursing every 2 hours, that doesn’t leave too much time to go and shop.

Checking out the local scene

This weekend there is a little festival downtown, that we are going to take the boys too. I have thought that one day I would get a booth there and sell jewelry, but it hasn’t happened yet. We really just go for the funnel cakes, they are the best. The weather looks like it is going to rain all weekend, so we’ll have to sneak downtown in between rain showers. I hope that the boys have a good time.

One less place to pick up dinner

If you are like me, and you grew up in Southwest Missouri, then chances are that you ate at a Gringo’s, and became addicted to their super yummy dishes too. When my hubby and I moved to Kansas we had to leave our beloved Gringo’s behind. When we moved again, a Gringo’s was opened just a mere 20 minutes from our new house! Happily we ate there whenever we could, or picked up drive-thru anytime we got a chance. Thade even became obsessed with eating at Gringo’s too, I couldn’t be happier. All was well.

But just 2 short days ago, we were running errands, and going to stop off at Gringo’s to pick-up dinner, and there was a for sale sign out in front of our beloved restaurant. I’m still bummed about it, and I’m really missing their super yummy nachos. Gringo’s is still an hour away, so we’ll visit when we can. I’ll just keep my fingers crossed that maybe one day Gringo’s will head north and set up a shop in our town.
