The weather was cooperating, and we had a lovely cool and cloudy day. Perfect for taking the kiddos for a walk around the block.

The moment that I mention to the boys that we are off for a walk, Dylan immediately makes a request to walk by “the castle”. It is one of his favorites.

It is a beautiful Victorian home just a few blocks from ours, and it is lovely no matter what the season is.

We walked further, and spotted a butterfly in a wildflower garden.

There is also beautiful woodwork on so many of the houses nearby.

We walked just a bit further to one of the oldest Churches in town.

The keystone reads 1873, it is quite a sight.

The kiddos climbed up and down the stairs…

But an impending rain storm brought on the humidity, and I had two boys begging to walk back home.

I grabbed one more picture…

And one little picture of the secret garden behind the Church.

Dylan asked if we could walk by the castle just one more time before we went home…

With beautiful lime green shady leaves such as this, how could I say no.

We made it about two hours at the festival this year… It was just too stinking hot to be outdoors. We grabbed a Trolley Ride, and then walked around downtown a bit.

I thought there was a great turn-out, even if it felt like 105 out.

The boys had fun with balloon creations.

We collectively decided that it was just too darn warm, so we headed to Sonic for milkshakes, and enjoyed the air-conditioning back home.

When Summertime is almost here, it is time for the Good Ol’ Days.

We love to meet up with friends and go to the parade.

Dylan loves the Trolley.

The Miss wasn’t a fan of any of it.

There were race cars.

And Mascots riding golf carts too.

Bright red Fire Trucks.

And Yellow Ducks.

We saw funny characters.

And just maybe a new addition to our town.

I really hope that the skate park will open here, it would be great for the kiddos.

We even spotted our neighbor in a Yellow Bug.

But of course, there are always tractors…

Green ones.

And Red ones too.

Lots of pretty ponies were in the parade too.

And this little bitty one was just too adorable.

All in all it was a super-fun Summertime parade.

It’s that time of year again… The Good Ol Days are back.

We’ll be visiting the parade tonight, and riding the Trolley tomorrow.
