October Goals

Let’s see if this keeps me accountable. Every month I journal out a list of goals for the month ahead. Sometimes I do pretty good, and sometimes I don’t.

October is my very favorite month of the year. After a solid week of migraines, I’m full of hope for a better month. So while I’m up and motivated here’s what I hope to accomplish this upcoming month.

  • Stick to my menu plan
  • Blog post as much as I can
  • Use the pantry more, and grocery shop less
  • Decorate for Halloween
  • Deep clean at least three rooms
  • Tend to the mending pile

This month is also crazy busy. I’ve been updating my calendar, and it seems like we have something going on every single day of the week. School is in full swing, and this month we have a few days off, parent-teacher conferences, and Agnes has vocal practice every Thursday. We also celebrate Agnes’ and James’ birthday’s, and our anniversary too.

It is going to be one crazy month.

September’s End

The month is winding down, and I can’t believe just how quickly the month has gone by.

The kids are busy in school. We are finally settling into the morning routine. All three of the kiddos are in the highest reading and math classes. I’m super proud of my little bookworms.

I still haven’t accomplished any big jobs around the house. I need to paint and deep clean every square inch of the house, but I can’t get motivated.

I’ve had some pretty bad migraines this week, so it’s been mostly naps for me.

October is right around the corner, and it is my very favorite month of the year. It looks like it is going to be another busy month around the house.

Days Off

My husband finally had a few days off work, so I decided to take a few days off too. We didn’t make any plans, heck, we didn’t even leave the house. Instead we worked on the bare minimum and bummed about while the kids were in school.

It was awesome…

I napped, snuggled with Jinx, crocheted, and watched lots of netflix. I even tried out a few new vegan recipes.

I am a little behind on my blog posts, dishes, and laundry, but the break was nice.

The weekend has arrived, so it’s back to the noise and endless cooking. Time to get back to it, I suppose.

June: Around The House

We made it through the first full month of Summer break… Just barely.

We have had a lot of rain for the last few months, but that made for very happy flowers.

Mia is pretty happy about having all of the kids home. There are plenty of people to play fetch with her, but it is usually me who is the one playing.

I’ve been spending every single waking moment in the kitchen. Or at the grocery store.

We haven’t been out of the house too much, but we did visit Redbud Farms and Nurseries. Dylan and Agnes loved exploring the farmland.

My husband surprised me with a box full of goodies to keep me sane this Summer.

And here is the reality of having everyone home all day, and eating around the clock. I’ll be honest I’ve only had the kitchen cleaned up for about two days this entire Summer. UGH!

Enough of the kitchen, back to the garden…

On second thought, maybe this book will get my butt in gear.

Now that July has arrived, the hot weather has moved in. The kids are growing more and more bored and restless every day, July is always a pretty tough month. I’m looking forward to August, maybe then I’ll get that kitchen of mine back in order.

Lazy Wednesday

Wednesday has arrived, and that calls for a little bit of laziness.

Monday, I usually grocery shop and run errands. On Tuesday, I catch up around the house. Wednesday is minimal chore/quiet morning day! Thursday calls for clearing out at least one big bag of clutter. Friday, I’m back to the grocery store and spending the day stocking the fridge with homemade snacks. During the weekend I focus all of my time and energy on my family, and I cook like I own a Diner.

I really look forward to Wednesday.

Once I get the kids to school, I grab a cup of coffee, and a knitting or crochet project. I browse my netflix queue and relax until it is time to make lunch.

What about you? Do you have a lazy day too?
